Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome?

I am in the process of getting diagnosed with this - basically, I have overdeveloped calves, and when I put my legs into certain positions, they cramp and go numb from the knee down. One of those positions is dorsiflexion - aka, skiing. It sort of explains why skiing got so painful as I became a grown adult, and because of that pain, I gave up skiing at 20 or so, and didn't ski again until my daughters started skiing as toddlers, thanks to my parents. Last year I only skied about a day and a half before giving up for the season, but this year my folks are going to be traveling more and I really want to keep the girls on the hill, because they love it, so I'm trying to find a solution that works. I'm going to post in the gear section for boots, but I just wanted to put it out there in the world to see if anyone had experienced PAES and been able to ski (without surgery - I don't think I want to go down that road as the outcomes are not great, and can make a bad issue worse.) Thanks!

Oof. No ideas here, but I hope something can help!

Sorry to hear this. I think that PAES can be pretty darn serious so I'd make sure you have good advice for your particular situation from a/an appropriate specialist(s) so as to know what your risks are. If not severe then I wonder if bracing or footbeds might help. If severe then only you (and your family?) can decide which risks are worth what.
