Holy Montana Snow, girlfriend!

Awesome! And BTW, since you mentioned it in that thread... I always wondered why they did the first ESA at Stowe. Snow can be quite marginal at that time of year (and was the year Brian did the ESA).

Nice! My DS lives in Bozeman and reported about 2 feet in his driveway. He's chomping at the bit to ski!

Well, the first ESA was called Eastern Tune up, and was designed to get some kind of Epic event in the East.
Since that first year the conditions have been exceptional, seriously, we only have had one year with marginal conditions since the first one.
Beyond that, we try to keep it somewhat affordable and try to do it when the resort is not in peak season with peak rates.

Yes, it was ETU when he did it. There were only a few trails open and fog. It was a good thing I was pregnant so I didn't feel left out. I just wondered... It's awesome that there is the ESA out here on the east coast, it's just that early-mid December isn't always dependable here. Thanks for the explanation. It makes sense!

I've attended the last two ESA Stowe clinics and there were pow days both years with lots of terrain open. Hopefully things will go that direction this year but it'll be fun no matter what. It's the only affordable way to ski Stowe and this year we're housed in the gorgeous Trapp Family Lodge, only $154/nt. for two people including full breakfast and $40 lift tickets for DH!

Amen SNWL!
But, as severine pointed out, I made a comment about switching BigSky with Stowe for ESA venue's because Montana is getting a huge dump of snow right now! I just wish I were there to enjoy it
