Today: Rain, possibly heavy at times east, changing to snow over the higher terrain during the afternoon, up to 2 inches above 2000 feet. Highs in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Light winds turning northwest and increasing to 10 to 15 mph with higher gusts late.
Tonight: Rain changing to wet snow in the valleys, and periods of snow over the higher terrain. Accumulations of a dusting to an inch in the valleys, and 1 to 4 inches over the higher elevations, up to 6 inches in the Adirondacks. Lows in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Winds northwest 15 to 25 mph, with gusts 30 to 50 mph.
Saturday: Morning snow showers in the valleys, and snow diminishing over the higher terrain. Additional accumulations of 1 to 3 inches across the mountains. Becoming partly to mostly sunny in the afternoon. Windy and cold. Highs in the 30s, a few low 40s south. Winds northwest 15 to 30 mph, with gusts 40 to 60 mph.
