Anyone ever pond skim?

Or is this something you plan to do at the end of season festivities? Looks pretty uninviting to me -- cold and wet. But maybe there's someone who has a firsthand account and can tell me otherwise?

No I haven't, but tomorrow is the annual Caribou Splash Cup here at Tremblant. Short/funny slalom course, the pond complete with drivers, quick change out of ski/snowboard boots and a short run/drinking game to the Petit Caribou bar.

I'll post some pics if I get any worthy.

Some friends of friends did the one up at Mt. Snow a few weeks ago. Here's a video; all 3 of them made it across this year:

I'd definitely like to give it a try at some point. All you've gotta do is bring a change of clothes, right?

Not for me...I'll keep my waterskiing to lakes in the summer. I do enjoy watching everyone give it a shot. Last weekend I was most impressed with a guy at Okemo who skied down one-footed and made it about 3/4 of the way across.

Never tried it! But here's a vid from a few years ago at my local bump:

 Some of them get pretty wet!

I have video somewhere from my nephew's "Jiggle Jump" which is like pond skimming but its on St Patricks weekend and the pond is filled with green jello.

He got 2nd place for biggest splash, much to the dismay of those who were standing close to the Jiggle pit!

I did it once, but many years ago! It was a blast!

I've never done it mostly because I'm young and need a parental signature since i'm under 18. I would love to do it though since it combines two of my favorite things; water and snow. My parents think i'm too clumsy to do it. But anyway I've had a blast watching it and from what i've seem and heard it's not too difficult if you don't try to do anything ridiculous. It is fun to see the people who don't completely make it and get soaked, makes for a good laugh : )
