34 days in the Cascades

This sounds like such a lovely feat to me--34 days spent ski mountaineering up the spine of the Cascades between Snoqualmie Pass and Canada. I love how it ended, with a decision to stay safe rather than to meet the arbitrary goal of touching the border. I'm not very interested in record breaking bigger/stronger/faster type endeavors, which is probably why I thought this was so neat.

McBrian described the pair’s journey as “an expression of our love” for the Cascade range.

“There’s a strong artistic element to alpinism, including ski touring. It’s kind of an art project,” McBrian said.

Wow. That's kind of great, stopping at the end so as not to risk death. And the photography!
