Do you wear makeup when you ski?

Frustration

 Does Blinc mascara really not come in anything but black? I look like I have a spider sitting on each eye when I wear black mascara! Also, the local Penny's does not carry Sephora . . . but do you think they will let you order it through the store without shipping? (or any other way, as a service?) Nope.
And, with free shipping at Sephora on orders over $50, how much do you think my order comes to? That's right . . $49!! :frusty:

I have Blinc in brown. And if I recall correctly there were multiple shades of brown. I also have it in black - just depends on how dark I want to go.

How is the blink mascara in Purple? It sounds great! I have a similar type of mascara by Loreal (double extend) that has a tubes but also has a white layer that you put on first to help thicken the lashes. Does Blink have this or does it thicken/lengthen just fine without it? I love my mascara because it doesn't smudge even if I sleep in it but if it gets wet (from snow, say, or tears), it gets "spiky" for lack of a better word. This look is not pretty so I have avoided it while skiing, just in case. Does the Blink mascara do this?
It’s VERY scary purple on the wand, but I actually don’t notice a distinct purple color once applied. There’s no base layer, it goes directly onto your lashes. So far I’ve been very impressed with how well it stays on. Tuesday I wore it to work, then straight afterwards to play volleyball and there was no smudging or spiking.

I'm not seeing purple on Sephora's site for Blinc, but I do see mascara in purple, blue and green by a company called tokidoki that's called Punk Lash Mascara. I think a trip to Sephora is in my near future.
My local Sephora didn’t carry purple either (only black.) I ordered it from Amazon.com

I usually don't wear make up when I ski, but then when I see pictures with no goggles, I cringe! I'm going to start. I mean, I go full-hog wild when I'm showing my horse and it doesn't wear off, why not when I ski? (Just a little.) I found Carmex now makes a tube of various shades of tinted SPF lip balm. I found Burt's Bees but unless I'm missing something, it does not contain SPF. I bought the Carmex stuff and it definitely has staying power and is a really subtle hint of color. Perfect!

I still don't quite get the "while skiing" part. After all, I've got goggle covering 2/3 of my face (the most important part: eyes), and a helmet over my hair (something I'm proud of). So who's going to see my mascara even if I bother to put it on?
I know from experience that if you wear makeup every day you feel naked without it--you think your face looks blah, puffy, uneven skin tone...all that stuff, and it's uncomfortable to know you look that way. For a while I worked as a secretary whenever I was on break from school, and wore makeup to fit in, and it took no time at all to feel weird when I didn't wear it.

Burt's Bees lip balms have a bazillion different varieties. Some have SPF, some don't... I have a few of each.

Just wanted to say that I have noticed that when I wear the Aveda lip tint I get more attention from guys--and from people in general. So it's not that I wouldn't look nicer in makeup, it's just that I wouldn't feel like myself because I've never worn it unless I had to.

I have yet to find it out here with the SPF. I keep looking but haven't found it. Oh well, I am glad I found the Carmex stuff--I really like it!

I'm really digging the way this Blinc mascara goes on, though I do think it's best when used with a lash comb to separate the lashes out a bit before it dries. Feels great once it's on and set too. I put it on this morning and then only took it off (using warm towel and tugging to pull the tubes off, so much less messy than traditional mascara removal!! awesome!) and then put it back on this time w/ a lash comb handy and definitely prefer how it looks post lash-comb usage. Got my martial arts class tonight, so that will be the test for sweaty face and lasting mascara  Then I'll use it on the slopes on Sunday!

And as for lips - I do all makeup sans lips most days, so on the slopes all I do is chapstick (and keep said chapstick in my pocket for re-application throughout the day). My lips are always so dry on ski days.

So, I spent the last two days trying out Sephora's tinted moisturizer with SPF 20 on the slopes and I have to say, it worked great! Evened out my skin tone beautifully, though I still had to use my concealer for bumps. I did a check at lunch and before apres ski, and at not point did my skin look shiny or oily. (Which is pretty impressive, considering my skin runs on the oily side.) It seemed to moisturize just as well as my daily moisturizer, even with the frigid temperatures and biting wind. As for whether the SPF worked...well, I'll let you know in 30 years whether my face looks like a purse or not!

Overall, this tinted moisturizer is definitely going to be a ski-day staple. Loved it!
