Yes, I'll be at Breckenridge. Sorry I guess I didn't really say what I was doing. I'm going to make my first crack at peak 10 so I think I'll be in that area... in case I need to narrow it down.

edit: the reason I want to go to breck is to also check out clamjumper because I'm insane and signed up for the citizen course of imperial challenge. https://greatadventuresports.com/page.cfm?PageID=905

as i'm skiing down it i'm sure i'll realize what i've gotten myself into LOL.

I'd join you, but I'm taking the day to rest! Work kicked my butt today! :(

Have fun!

Thanks I always get so excited before a day of skiing. Read your post about Vail getting snow yesterday, I hope Breck/Summit got some too but I was too busy at work today to check. :ski2:

The fresh was nice but skiied off very quickly... the best run I had was ungroomed gold king on peak 9... couldn't see my skis, other than that peak 10 was fun but all tracked out. i always wondered where the infamous "the burn" run was located... now i know. the blue/blacks and bumps were fun over there on peak 10/falcon chair but a lot flatter than they look from the base of beaver run. i was suprised. it was very busy today and i got the hell out of there after a solid half day  now i'm back in denver drinking some guiness... *praying for more snow*

Oh, I am JEALOUS. I love uphilling! Now you have me & DH discussing whether or not we think we could train for the expert course next year!

Go, you! That's a big climb (and sure to be fun, fun, fun!).

It is pretty funny how much longer (and steeper) your average blue or green run looks when you are going up, as opposed to skiing down. There's a pic in my TR Aspen-->Vail looking back down a run in Snowmass. And when you put it in the perspective of going UP on snowshoes as opposed to DOWN on skis. Ack, it looks long! And looked steep on the way up!

My sister and I have hiked all the way up Vail mountain (Golden Peak to Two Elk) and up most of Snowmass Mountain, and it's different than a normal snowshoe, and harder, but great fun and an amazing workout.

I wish I had the time (and a bike right now, lol) to do the event with you! I am a great uphill cheerleader! Fun!

Of course I'm going to do it again next year   :injured:

I couldn't even ski at this point last year, and it's a huge accomplishment for me to admit that was the easiest part of the entire challenge.
