Heh, I was watching football the other day and saw a commercial for Survivor and my friend and I were wondering who is watching that show. I saw one or two episodes years ago when it was new and just don't get the appeal.

I think they should literally dump the people on an island with an emergency radio. They should be figuring out how to survive on their own and when they can't take it anymore, they call and get picked up. Last one out wins. I guess that doesn't make for good tv drama, but I don't like all the silly games and voting off. It should be called "winner of silly games" not "survivor"!

Anyway, I love:

Drop In (canadian mountain bike reality tv)
30 Rock
The Office
My name is Earl

and... my really silly tv:
America's next top model.

I have no idea why - I'm not into fashion, modeling, or any of that and for some reason I'll sit and watch it. Go figure.

I used to watch Fear Factor a bunch too. And those cooking competition shows...

I like to watch how MEAN Tyra gets. She really is mean! (and SO full of herself!)

I don't watch much TV..(and since we only get the network stations) but I have an addition to America's next top model.

And this year I got into The Biggest Loser.

Part of my problem is that I forget when things are on so I end up missing a lot of episodes.

As far a Survivor goes . . why is it always some place warm. Oh, yeah, so the women are scantily clad. But I think Survivor Alaska, or Iceland, or Siberia would be interesting. Imagine having to snuggle close to someone you can't stand just to stay warm.

I think I'm addicted to CSI. Must be the scientist in me. Also House. I used to watch ER all the time, but its not as good, so I can miss it now. Reality shows are not my thing. I did watch Dancing with the stars to see how Heather Mills made out. Saturday night in Canada is Hockey, so that is a must! But give me a good movie anytime.

Makeovers, plastic surgery shows on tv, etc

OMG, has anyone ever watched "Dr 90210"   Do people on this planet REALLY go to THESE EXTREMES???? It's kind of a hokey hoot to watch the doctors' families stuff, but the actual surgical patients..... Can't even stand the thought of Botox much less MAJOR FREAKIN SURGERY. I EARNED my lines  Good thing I live where I do and not there...

Sorry to get off topic. But some of these new surgery shows are pretty wild. I watch sometimes when I need to re-affirm my sanity.

I have had to be secret about my love of Silly TV. I told my book club I wasn't available on a certain night and they all wanted to know what could possibly be more important than BOOK CLUB. So I had to admit I needed to watch the DWTS finale. Oh the crap I caught for that. They ran me to the ground! But then... yesterday I'm at the Dentist and she says to me (while replacing 3 fillings- ouch) "I was so addicted to Dancing with the Stars" I almost choked! Unfortunately all I could do was nod my head and squeak a little bit since my whole mouth was numb but I closed my eyes when she said "Cameron Mathison". Mmmm...

About the surgery shows- I feel so bad for those people. Most of them look so freakish when they are done- not real. It's kind of weird.

Haha! Whenever I see someone getting an "augmentation" my first thought is "that would mess up my skiing".

There's some serious center-of-mass changes going on there!

OK I'll admit it - I kinda got into Biggest Loser this season. Although I started to feel really guilty watching it while lying on the couch eating junk food!

But there's one show I never ever miss and that's Coronation Street. (Confession - I've been known to make my way back to our hotel room to watch it while on vacation)

Yep, I did have a flash of guilt while sitting on the sofa, watching Biggest Loser, and eating a piece of pizza.

My latest TV addiction is Boston Legal. I never knew William Shatner could actually act! And my latest silly TV addiction is Project Runway. I don't have a clue why, since I'm rather fashion impaired.:noidea:

My never miss show is Lost. I get together with a few of the guys and watch it every week on dvr, as soon as works for all of us. Sometimes we start 15 minutes after it comes on to watch it as soon as possible without commercials, but sometimes we can't line our schedules up and it gets stacked up. We initially started watching season one on dvd shortly before season two came on, so after the marathon sessions, one hour at a time was hard on our addicted brains.

I used to be the doesn't watch tv at all type (still don't own one) but I feel like there are a few things on nowadays that are pretty great, and dvr and tv on dvd make watching it actually work. Entertainment that I have to schedule around, not my thing.

A few great ones for dvd enjoyment: Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Queer as Folk

Yeah, BL! Have you been watching it since it started? The whole show is worth the ending balcony scenes with Alan and Denny. I don't altogether consider BL "junk" tv - maybe semi-junk  Who knew Shatner's calling was flat-out comedy? It was those Priceline commercials that got him back in gear

I've watched some Project Runway too.

I think it must be that it gets me curious to see if the fashion/looks that have any appeal to me are the same ones that appeal to the people in the fashion industry.

And the project runway finale? I loved the one collection that they hated. Go figure!
