Okay, so while I was trying on ski boots I accidently caught the top of my foot on the very stiff plastic tongue, and then reacting to the pain I proceeded to wrench my foot out of the boot as quickly as possible, which resulted in bruising the entire top of my left foot.

Because I was only in Stowe (and near the bootfitter) I continued to ski throughout the weekend so that I could get my boots fine tuned before I left. So, now 48 hours later my foot is extremely swollen and bruised and I need to get it healed ASAP so I can get these boots broken in before ESA Aspen! Priorities right?!

Anyways, thanks for putting up with my drama...:D now onto to my question. Has anyone had good results from using Arnica with bruises?

Ice, ice baby. As much as you can stand (at least it's not as cold out as it was at Stowe in mid-December!)

Actually, yes I have. Now believe me, I am not into snakeoils etc, but I used it for a long time for various purposes, I bought a vile from some poor woman at a farmers market once to be nice. Then after it got used up, I never replaced it. A couple years later, I needed to go down the road and help my neighbors on their planting wheel, I had terrible tendonitis in my elbow that had been going on 7 months or so. The woman gave me some arnica to put on it before we set out to the field and honestly, it felt good when I got home that night So I went and bought some and used it for about a week more and gone, never had another problem with it. I use it all the time now, it's an elixer I am pretty sure. (wink ) (emos not working for me) Try it, if doesn't work on your bruise, it's awsome on sore tendons and muscles.

So the boots have been working out post tweaking?

Has anyone had good results from using Arnica with bruises?

I don't really bruise, dunno if it's a skin color thing or if I've just gotten banged up enough that my body's used to it, but I have a friend who bruises very easily and absolutely swears by arnica, and has recommended it heartily to others who have been happy with the results as well. I'd say it's worth a try.

Yes, with the exception of the bruised area. I can't really tell at this point if the boots are contributing to the problem or not. Hopefully, once it's all healed I won't have anymore pain in that area.

Awesome! I'm trying it and hoping for the best.

Arnica is awesome for bruises and soreness. I used it post-partum with my youngest and it helped me heal faster. Plus when I broke my foot. Plus when I fell really hard while skiing last month. Homeopathy works better than you would think.

Sorry about the bruise. Heal fast!

Thanks SnowHot! I'll continue klutzy antics just to make ya laugh. I called my Hematologist ( I have a bleeding disorder) to make sure I could take the arnica and the nurse was cracking up at me. Glad I can amuse you all... :becky:

I'll make sure to give Bud a hug for you!
