Women's Self Defense

I signed myself up for a full force women's self defense class over two weekends in August. As I understand it, the class teaches women various moves to defend yourself but also tries to instill a type of attitude to take with an attacker (ie. I'm not going to make this easy for you).

Has anyone been through this kind of training? What about martial arts training in general? The group giving this training was founded when a woman in the bay area who had a black belt in karate was attacked and raped.

Go for it!!

Good for you!! Being able to defend yourself is never a bad thing. I have never been through any training programs but I have been attacked 3 times in my life and I won every time. I believe in fighting back. I may not have any self defense training but I think my 30 years of horse experience has given me the tools I needed to stay safe.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the note skigirl! Wow, it's good to know that you reacted so well in those situations. I've got the same mindset, that you should do everything possible to avoid being in a bad situation like that, but if you get caught in one, you're going to fight back!
