Women, Wax & Wine

Denver area Divas -- if you want to learn how to wax your skis, Outdoor Divas is bringing in a SWIX ski wax and tuning expert to go over the basics of ski waxing, February 11 at 6:30pm, at their Cherry Creek North location.

Anyone know of any other things like this?

I believe SnowHot and Volklgirl attended a shindig of nearly the same name. The guys on epic had a ton of fun with the name :D

I'd love for a ski shop around here to do something similar. How common is it where you are for the ski shops to put on learning events? Around here none of the independant shops do, the closest thing to it is REI events.

Num, if you are if for about an hour or so drive, Aspen Ski & Pation in Barrington, IL has offered similar events in the past.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check em out. My boot guy is at Vertical Drop Ski and Patio in St Charles, about the same distance away. Are ski and patio shops a normal combination in other places? Ski and golf makes sense to me, but I always thought it was funny that we have two ski and patio places in the area.

Num is right. Volklgirl and I did attend an event like this last year. Wine Women and Wax. Brick wheels hosted it, and though I expected more of an opportunity to see what was new in ski tuning(which it was not) it was a great night of shopping, fine food tasting, and supporting the Womens Resource center.

Ski shops would be wise to embrace the women in the market. If mama ain't happy, ain't nooooo body happy. ;)
