I recently discovered The Kula Cloth: "The original antimicrobial Pee Cloth for all the places you 'go'".

Here is a great little video that describes "How to Kula". I bought one to use when traveling in my van, and I can attest to the fact that it works great, feels great, and does NOT smell, even after several uses. It's also suoer easy to clean, and dries very quickly.

That's kinda cool, never knew about these. Haven't really been in an environment where the "knock the drips off with a stick" trick didn't work, but I imagine certain travelling scenarios would make this super-convenient. Do they hold up pretty well at the front/tail-end of "that time of month?" Thanks for the recommendation!

Allegedly they do -- it's mentioned in the FAQs; that's one of the reasons they made the absorbent side black! This is really well-designed; I've been very happy with mine when using my pee-bottle in my van at night. The website is pretty awesome, too!

Oh hey y’all! I started a brand, in many ways thanks to a thread we discussed AGES ago

I’ve refrained from mentioning it because I didn’t want to break any rules around self-promotion… but since this thread is about women-owned outdoor brands, mine is called Alpine Parrot. We specialize in women’s sizes 14+, and though we started with hiking pants, snow apparel is coming as soon as possible!

Awesome! Best of luck with your clothing brand; I'm unfortunately not your demographic but know you're going to treat all those other ladies with stylish, sturdy gear! And thanks for the not-overt self-promotion, but don't forget you're due a spot ;)

Haven't seen you around in a while! Are you still skiing Tahoe?
Awesome about your new business ! I'm on the other side of the size spectrum but I'm so impressed with your accomplishments.

Best of luck to you! Hope to see you on the slopes.....

So funny, I was looking at your website recently! So nice to hear it's owned by a fellow Ski Diva

Ladies! I am going out on a limb and hopefully not sounding too contrarian. I feel a need without mentioning names or politics to point out that one of the fabric companies we all use is woman owned, but not at all progressive in terms of women's rights. I am personally more concerned with the overall ethics and in some cases happier to buy from a male dominated than archaic woman run company. It actually bums me out that most of my gear is made of this one material. If this post is offensive I fully understand and welcome the removal by the moderators.

Thought I'd add on to this:

SKEA clothing , out of Colorado.
I know nothing about SKEA, so have no axe to grind, but when I visited their website I was immediately put off by the amount of fur they use, and much of it is real fur, not faux. Also, they do not indicate where their down is sourced from, or if they are Responsible Down Standard (RDS/ICEA) certified (still not vegan, but a move in the right direction). This company may be woman-owned, but I don't feel like their hearts are in the right place, for me, anyway.

Just wanted to point that out, for those who try to stick to cruelty-free products.

Wild Rye. Heard an interesting interview with the founder on Ski Moms podcast. They’re a relatively recent startup doing women’s apparel for snow sports and mountain biking, based in Sun Valley. Very female-focused in terms of product design and growing their team.

Wild Rye currently has a sale on returned items. Not too many things, and mostly summer/ biking items (they have some cute biking shorts that aren't "bike shorts" if that makes any sense) but decently discounted.

I can attest to the usefulness of Kula cloth. I took one with my for my bike trip across Europe. Not doing a drip dry was incredibly important for crotch health and hygiene, even tho I did a lot peeing in the bushes. I washed it every night with my shorts and jersey. I kept it hanging on my handlebars instead of in a pocket. It was great and held up really, really well.
