Wolf Creek in Colorado, 2025-26 news and conditions

Does anyone know what performance/demo skis WC has in their rental program ?
Easiest way to find out is to give WCSA a call if you want to know soon. There are a few ski shops in South Fork that rent skis too. Pagosa Springs has several ski shops that do ski rentals. Haven't ever about demo skis since my trips are mostly during early season.

Morning report for Dec. 2. Looking at the Grooming Report, sounds like they are grooming Feature Duster to get a solid base started.

Wolf Creek received a trace of new snow yesterday afternoon. The latest storm total is 10 inches. The midway snow depth is 28 inches. The year-to-date snowfall total is 43 inches.
  • All Lifts are operating from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., giving access to roughly 80% of the mountain!
  • A full grooming report can be found on the Grooming Report Page.
  • Lift tickets are at Local Appreciation rates today through Thursday, December 4th: $70 for adults, $51 for seniors, and $35 for children. Purchase online to save time at the Ticket Office. Tickets are reloadable this season, so an initial ticket will have an additional charge of $2.
  • The Wolf Creek Lodge, our main day lodge, is open, serving a full menu!

The latest storm dropped a little more snow before moving out completely. Below is how the morning update was reported via email for Dec. 4.

Good day for a first day of the season. Stuck to groomers. While the coverage isn't too bad, I had new skis and trying to keep them in good shape for a least a little while. The fresh snow is packing down nicely in terms of creating a solid base for the rest of the season.

While there is good snow coverage after the last few weeks, it's a bit strange to see temperature forecasts well over 35 for the next week.

Once again, Wolf Creek is 100% open on Dec. 11. :becky:

How re-loadable RFID lift access cards are being handled is a bit unusual. If you buy a ticket at a ticket window, you get a cardboard RFID card good for 1,2,3 days but it cannot be re-loaded. If you used the online system and buy a ticket, you get it from the machine at the main base. That card will be re-loadable online.

By the way, there are a few dogs allowed who are owned by the owner's family. They are friendly but not actively looking to be petted.

I expect it's very unusual for Wolf Creek to have limited terrain at the end of December. Hopefully the next snowstorms will include southern Colorado.

From WCSA daily update on Dec. 25, 2025:
  • The Elma, Charity Jane, Raven, Treasure, Bonanza, Nova, Tumbler and Lynx Lifts are operating from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., The Magic Carpet is open for the Wolf Pup & Wolf Rider Programs.
  • 9 lifts are operating, giving access to 50% of the mountain. Alberta lift is closed, as are the ridges, Waterfall area, Alberta Peak, and Horseshoe Bowl.

Just enough snow for WCSA to go back to being 100% open on Dec. 26.

Normal winter temperatures have arrived at Wolf Creek, along with some snow. Hopefully more snow arrives with 2026.

Wolf Creek has given their homepage a makeover. Much easier to find info with the new look.

The advantage WCSA has by being 100% for almost all of December is that the early season snow on off-piste terrain was well packed down by knowledgeable skiers/boarders. Having a solid base on more mellow terrain such as Serendipity or the blue bump runs on the front side means that even a few inches of fresh snow leads to very good conditions.
