First day (ever) at Wolf Creek today and we had a blast! Conditions were excellent and we spent most of the days doing bumps -- the snow was very forgiving. We also zoomed in and out of glades, where we actually found pockets of powder four days after the last snow. Only one run proved to be a little dicey, ie crusty, so we exited it pretty fast. Three more days here, with snow announced for the last one on Monday.

Once again, Wolf Creek will be getting snow no matter which way the winds will blow in Colorado.

From OpenSnow on Feb. 21:
" . . .
Storm Summary. The most snow will fall from Tuesday night to Wednesday and the southern mountains should be deep on Wednesday with 1-2 feet of snow. And, with snow continuing from Wednesday night through Friday, powder days on Thursday and Friday are likely as well and could be even deeper and softer. Total snowfall from Tuesday night to Friday should be 20-40 inches in the southern mountains, 12-30 inches in the central mountains, and 6-12 inches in the northern mountains.
. . ."

WCSA expects to open today, with delayed openings for lifts.

From the WCSA homepage on Feb. 23:

***The WEST side of Wolf Creek Pass will be closed until CDOT (Colorado Dept. of Transportation) has determined that all avalanche hazards have been mitigated. Check COTrip.org for opening information. The EAST side should open to the ski area after 9am. Wolf Creek Ski Area will also have delayed chairlift openings throughout the day. Check COTrip.org before attempting to drive up either side of the pass. Updates will be posted as conditions change.***)

Wolf Creek has received 13" of Fresh Snow overnight and it is snowing heavily! Our all-natural snow depth is 108" at the midway. Conditions are Powder/Packed Powder with extensive grooming throughout the mountain.
