I totally thought we were done with the 80's after last week. Come on, winter, it's OCTOBER.

We had about 5" up in the mountains and about an inch at our house down in the valley here in UT on Saturday. Mostly gone now, which is a good thing unless it was going to go to full winter right now - otherwise it tends to be awful for snowpack stability.

And I'm not ready for winter yet - too much great fall biking left! :D

It snowed several inches on the West side of the Sierra's monday & over Donner summit. I went through the snow storm on my way to Reno to get my NEW Boots. On my way back about an inch was still there on several slopes.

Snow line pretty low

Our snow line has dropped as low as 4000' already this year. We have quite a bit of snow in the Bitterroots which is normal for now, but seeing snow in the morning on the Sapphires, out little foothills is.
No snow in the valley yet though. Carlton Ridge where the infamous Bitterroot Resort is slated is covered though, we overlook a huge slide path up there, I am waiting and watching through my binos for the first slough of the year. It's a strange fascination I have, I know.

Hey, at work here on Hood I looked up and saw a dusting of a snow up top on Zigzag Mountain. I'm hearing that the snow is accumulating at Timberline....

We had 1-4" at the Eisenhower Tunnel (near the Continental Divide and Loveland Ski Area) a couple of days ago!

This is from 9News.com (in Denver):

"Sunday: Mainly cloudy and chilly. There is a chance of rain showers in the metro area possibly mixing with snow in the morning. There is a much better chance for snow showers in the mountains where several inches of accumulation is possible above 9,000 feet. No accumulating snow is expected below 6,000 feet. Lows near 40, highs near 60. "

LET IT SNOW!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

We ran up to the condo at Silverthorne today. The higher peaks at the top are white and lower areas have a dusting. It looks like someone took powdered sugar and sprinkled on them.

Loveland has snow on the main run but it's not down the the base yet. It was in the 60's, 9500 ft, up there today.

I hope the weekend forecast holds out and it gets colder up there. It would be nice to be skiing in a couple of weeks.

I can see snow on the Swan range from my window. The webcams at the mountain summit are down for maintenance, but I am sure that the summit has snow, we just don't face that direction. No snow on my deck yet, though. We've had flakes, but nothing sticking, which is fine since my window boxes are still full of flowers.
