Who loves moguls?

So who loves to ski moguls?

That's one area in which I really need to improve. But I don't like to ski them when they're:

1) too big;
2) too steep;
3) too icy.

Consequently, here in the east I don't ski them too often. Which makes it tough to get the practice I need.

How about you?

Moguls are so much fun!
Don't like them too steep , icy, or big either!
More practice is needed for me, can't wait for next season!

So who loves to ski moguls?

Yeeaaah!!!!! MeMeMeMeMe!:smile:

Not that I'm good. But I just love it! I guess I love being humbled? Yes, I do. ;)

I can't handle them too well when they're both BIG & ICY. But the truth is, moguls turn icy a lot slower than the groomers, because there're way fewer skiers who care to ski moguls. So they don't get skied out nearly as fast as the groom trails.

In fact, I'm more terrified by icy & steep groomers than I'm of icy & steep moguls. :( For one thing, if I fall on steep icy groomers, it's a long slide no matter how good my self-arrest skills are. But on moguls, I'll simply be stopped by the next BIG bump! ;)

I used to like them a lot! But now......it hurts my head, neck, butt, arm, finger, eyebrow, etc......getting old stinks!

I love them and they don't bother me anymore. Why - can't really tell you as I haven't figured it out yet. When I do, I'll get my level 3 instructor and know why!

Congrats Jilly!
Mr. NVG (to be) has his Level 3 and he ADORES moguls! We just find ways that I can ski around them and then meet....hopefully....at the bottom!

I did ski a VERY mogully hill last March in Vail.....called Lover's Leap! VERY steep, icy, and 45 foot moguls (I exaggerate) but that's how they felt. It only took me 16 hours to get down it! :D I was so proud!

I had my first good mogul experience in Big Sky this past February as it was a blue run with soft moguls of varied sizes. My skis were too stiff and long though so I picked up a pair of AC2s in 156 cm (I'm just shy of 5'7") and plan to bring them to Montana when I return in February along with my new powder twin tips for fluff and the park!

I love moguls! I don't really like them icy yet...but, I will be working on that next season. I love that for me still there are times when they can everything I have learned pulls together and I feel like I'm flying down and then other times when they are very challenging.

I used to avoid them like the plague

Then I tolerated them to ski with the gang

Now I manage them, but am embarrassed to be seen doing them because of my lack of skill, but I seek them out for practice.

My goal is to become proficient in them

Personally I love skiing the bumps!! I search for them! Getting into the big,icy or crudded up bumps has taken me to a new level of bump skiing.Milage is the key here and so are some certain skills.

I tell my students instead of looking at them as obstacles look at them as opportunities!

My goal next yr is to take some lessons, working on my overall technique, and then working on mogul skiing.
When I took lessons a couple of yrs ago, my skiing jumped to another level, so I am hoping I can get the same result with more instruction.

I consider myself a "baby mogul" girl. I love them when they're soft and easy. One of my favorite runs has a mogul field right next to a groomed run, so I can dodge in and out as my confidence wanes. Also, I find practicing on the baby bumps over and over again, sometimes picking a line and other times picking a rythem and trying to stick to it, a good way to build skills. Even though this hasn't made me a steep and big bump girl, it is way fun thing to do!
