Whistler-Blackcomb 2022-2023 season

This article states that WB is going to limit daily ticket sales. So if you're planning on WB this season and don't have Epic or an Edge card, you might not be skiing.

I kind of like this idea. Most ski trips are planned around existing passes or planned so far out in advance that lift tickets shouldn't be an issue. I think during the pandemic, resorts realized that the crowding was really bad before. So maybe they have learned. It also could be a issue of employees. Less people to "please" as customers, as employees seem to be hard to find. During the pandemic we had to reserve ski times, just like golf. I didn't see it as a problem. People still skied.

But this is an unusual move for a destination resort. Is VR doing this at other resorts?

Wow, I hope Alterra takes a look at this. Especially at resorts that are really close to major centres.

Not last year. But you have to buy ahead, but it could be the day before or early morning. Not almost buy now, for January. That's the impression I'm getting.

Ikon Partners Jackson Hole and Taos required reservations last season. Boyne decided to require reservations for Big Sky, Loon, and Brighton. Aspen Ski Co. is also requiring Ikon reservations. Saturdays and holidays will probably fill up. Perhaps a few Sundays.
