The list is so long it won't fit into this page!;)
Let me consolidate them and go by country instead (in such order):
- Switzerland (too many resorts to list)
- France (again, too many to list, Chamonix & 3 Valley top of list)
- Italy (The Dolomites, and maybe the Agosta Valley)
- Canada (Whister/Blackcomb, the Banff cluster, and one of the smaller new resort such as Fernie or Whitehorse)
- Lesser known US resort (Big Sky, Wolf Creek, Mt Bachelar etc. love ot go back to Taos, too. Been twice and absolutely LOVE it)
- Austria (St. Anton & Isch, maybe Innsbrook and some others)
- Japan (probabaly resort hop, it's a tiny country with efficient transport anyway)
- New Zealand (same as Japan -- but obviously can't be on the same trip, wrong season)
- South America
The list kind of take into account somewhat of how easy to get to and what my "expected" career/family life requirements.
(Why do I like Europe so much? Because they leave the fresh powder alone undisturbed for DAYS!!!);)
The last 3 (Japan, N.Z, S. America) may not become reality for years to come, especially the last 2 (N.Z, S.A) since I don't usually ski in summer (of whereever I'm living;) ). But I expect to hit a few resorts for the countries on the top of the list the next 2-3 years. And how fast and how frequent I get to hit them depends on how much time I devote to skiing and how actively I'm in seeking jobs in Europe/Asia/Australia!
The places I WON'T be going for week long ski trips are the "biggies" in the western US. Been there, done that, quite a few times for most of them. That's why I'm only looking at the lesser know resorts out west.
I might go for say, a long weekend to A-basin, Alta and such. But no more week long vacation in Summit county or Vail or SLC any more. I never thought I got bored skiing but I did. So I need to refresh it with new resorts with better scenary! If I have a week, I'll go over to Europe, or at least Canada!
And if I have a month? Japen/Eastern Europe (Russia!)!!!
