Ski Diva Extraordinaire
Due to the bad timing of a last minute medical procedure and the post procedure drugs which cause sudden drowsiness, weakness and decreased awareness, I ended up not being able to ski on a four day trip that (a friend and) I booked. Doctor said no driving, skiing, horseback riding etc. Though I'm often not the best listener when it comes to doctors, I didn't wanna go out there and hurt someone (or myself) cuz I couldn't pay enough attention.
We had taken off work, booked the condo, got lift tickets, etc all paid for and not movable, with the exception of the lift tickets which I can use another time this season (so glad about that). Since everything was paid for and the time was being taken off anyway, and I didn't know how affected I'd be by the post procedure drugs, we still headed up there and decided to do the trip and possibly nix the skiing.
So I spent much of the time at the condo sipping tea and being drowsy (entertainingly so, no doubt) and all was well, when this morning I stepped out to see that it was dumping! Light and fluffy (for here, of course. Utah skiers, don't break my illusion!) gorgeous and sparkly, and it just kept on falling all day. I haven't skied on fresh snow yet this season, and I haven't managed to catch a major dump in progress ever in my short so far skiing career. The sky was taunting me
We ended up taking a peek at the hill, and it was packed. Winter break for schools and snowing, I shouldn't've been surprised. It was great to see the kids grinning and making turns looking like they were in a snow globe though!
Timing's a b*tch sometimes. I guess I'll just have to make up for the missed turns in real snow at Solitude in March :D
So have you ended up on a trip where you thought you'd be skiing and ended up stuck hanging out inside, gazing longingly at your gear? Kid get sick on a ski trip and you and husband take turns? You get really sick, or injured minorly enough to not cancel the trip but majorly enough to keep you off the hill? Did the sky taunt you?

- something awesome to look forward to.
(I don't see the turning green and getting sick icon offered, just as well
).
