What's your oldest piece of equipment?

There's always a lot of talk here about our new stuff. But what about your old ski equipment? What's the oldest thing you have? And do you use it or just keep it in the back of the closet?

My oldest thing right now is a pair of Head Monster IM 70's. They're about six years old, and I use them as rock skis.

What about you?

I still have my circa-1985 Dynastar Course SL, 190. I have no idea why. I'm sure I tried to sell them years ago. Now they're a novelty item. I bought them in SLC on sale and had them shipped home.

DH has kept his old Rossi 7SK's, 197, bright yellow. Again, no idea why. Skinny enough to be XC touring skis.

Some years ago, a friend gave us an old pair of wood skis, long thong and all (or are they "bear trap?"), and huge basket, HEAVY steel poles.

As soon as we get to work on the garage spring cleaning, a Quiver Pic is in order, just for our own record - and also to share here!

My body -and I use it daily!!!

I have a pair of wooden skis with metal and leather strap bindings that pre-date even me - they were given to us by one of my DH's colleagues. I also have a CB spring jacket (navy with one green stripe around the chest with matching collar) from the 70's that's from the era when you had those 2 tone mirrored sunglasses to match-too bad the jacket's too small - I could wear it for retro days with a nice pair of stretch pants with the color stretch panel on the side and a Roffe sweater:ROTF:

My oldest piece of equipment is my pair of Head 360's that I got for my birthday Nov. 1967. Needless to say, I never use them, but I do look at them now and then and wonder if I could now make it down the mountain on them.

I have a pair of Hart poles, so, I bought them with skis about 1985. Also numerous peices of small clothing. Neck tubes, bandanas, a pair of cross country leather gloves I took to Europe in 88. DH - OMG. 1994 Tryolia GSX 203's, numerous poles too and a pair of wool stretch pants from the 80's.

Do the skis, we made into a bench count??

I'm going to ignore things I no longer use, since I've been skiing 35 years. In use are my poles, purchased in approximately 1979-80. Would have been my mittens until this year, the last pair was purchased in 1978.

My skis generally get replaced every other year, but due to my accident last year I used some "older" skis for groomer days this year and they were from January 2004.

I use old skis and some old clothing. The skis aren't that old, but I think they were sitting in the store for awhile.

Anything bought in this millenium is still new! :D

Based on *that* definition I have nothing old

Honesty I think my oldest piece of "equipment" using the term loosely are one pair of smartwool socks that I got 4 years ago (the summer before I learned).

My Kneissl White Stars with Tyrolia Olympic bindings that say 'Calgary '88' on them. I haven't skiied them in years, but I just can't get rid of them.

^^ Wow, DH had K White Stars, but his were circa 1977. Addendum to my list: I also have my original Grandoe ski mittens (leather), 1974. Until a year or two ago, they were even duct-tape free! Now relegated to cold weather snowblower duty!

I forgot to mention my outfit--- I've been wearing the same ski pants for, geez, at least 20 years. I know, that sounds embarassing, but hey, THEY STILL FIT! woo hoo

My poles. I got them in the 97/98 season at Sugarbush cuz my other pole broke. They're Leki's.

Oh - and my fabulous one piece from the early 90's, but that's not really "equipment" - just my apres ski fashion gear!!

My First set of Leather Ski Boots.....I've had them since I was 2 years old in 1969!!!!! (39 years!) SOOOOOOOOOOO Cute!!!!!!

Probably my Eddie Bauer down ski jacket, which I got in the early 90's. But it's in perfect shape and looks current AND it's light yet fabulously warm, so I have never found something better to replace it with (I keep watching the shops, but haven't seen anything as nice!). I don't want to part with it!
