This advertising guy has come up with a formula that uses your browser history to estimate whether you're male or female. Basically, it works this way: the more sites you visit that are frequented predominately by men, the greater the chance that you're a man, too.

For me, it said there was an 86% chance that I was female. Phew, I was worried!

Huh, I'm 96% female...guess I've been hanging out on the girlie side of the internet!

I actually saw this just a couple of days ago...a friend on another message board posted it...she came out at 51% female!

Crikey. I'm only 66% female! It didn't pick up the fact that I was looking at J.Crew (via a link in my email), Allure magazine (via another link), and some celebrity gossip page (from a link on Washington Post about Katie and Tom).

I'm 94% female. I recently cleared my browsing history so it didn't have a lot to go on, but I though 94% was surprising! I go on tons of skateboarding websites and stuff...guess I shouldn't complain that something thinks I'm girly though.

Yeah, apparently I'm 100% female? I don't think it looks at sites that aren't very common, it didn't list most of the sites I go to most often in it's calculations.

I'm 100% female, ha ha. But looking at the sites, half of them are higher male-female ratio? golfsmith, rei, xe, and so on. So I'm not sure how it calculated fully 100%. Maybe all my daughter's webkinz and neopets hits -- or the fact that there are no porn sites on there. ;-)

You say "looking at the sites ...." Did it list your sites after it computed you? Did it list sites for anyone? It didn't for me.

Just tried it again, and now it says I'm 65% female, down from 86% the other day! Funny, I'm not feeling any less girlie!
