What Ski Accessory Would You Never Leave Home Without?

Okay, so I copped this thread from Epic. Nonetheless, I thought it'd be worth asking here.

Aside from the obvious (skis, boots, poles, helmet, money), what ski accessory do you never leave home without?

I'll get things rolling:

• Transpack: A great hands-free way to carry my boots, helmet, etc. Love it! Makes my life sooooooo much easier!

• Health insurance card: You can't be too prepared.

• Boot heaters: I got Hotronics boot heaters this year, and as someone who's always suffered from cold feet, they've worked wonders!

• Glove liners: My hands are always cold, no matter what the glove or mitten. These really help.

What about you?

I have a few that are the same as yours

-health insurance card
-toe warmers (the stick on kind)
-credit card
-Carmex (or similar). I have one in every jacket.

As for the Transpak- I'm going to win one very soon :becky: If not, I need to buy one. DH and I were just talking about that last weekend as we dragged his old, large, Salomon ski bag (so 80's) out of the car once again. The bag holds our 2 pairs of boots, 2 helmets, gloves, goggles, socks, etc. It's time to invest in a new method of carrying all the gear. So we will be buying one, maybe two of them very soon...

Always have:
- big bag of water
- neckwarmer thingy
- inner gloves
- sunnies & goggles (otherwise I panic about changes in weather all day)
- business cards (just in case of meeting a potential client on the chair lifts - you never know !!)
- emergency bogroll stash

*ID & insurance card (just in case)
*cell phone
*glove liners
*goggles

Of course, I like to be prepared. In the car, I always have a stash of extras: socks, glove liners, gloves, layers of varying degrees of warmth. :D

So many of us carry the same things. Because we are on the mountain, I don't need to carry much. I can always go home in a downhill speed run. But I never leave without:
1. Lip balm and sunscreen
2. Nose Pinch (its a cloth that attaches to your goggles and covers your nose for cold weather)
3. Neck Bandit. Mine is double sided fleece and lining. No wind through that thing.
4. Goggles or sunglasses (yah spring - sunglass time finally)
5. Season Pass
6. Keys for locker and condo.

Cell phone, almost always the iPod, $ and my BANDANA (Mt. Hood is the windiest place ever, and you pay dearly for not wearing something on your face.).

I don't think I could ski without goggles or a helmet any better than I could ski without my skis or boots...

Glove/boot heaters/neck gaiter/etc. all depend on the weather.

I have a Transpack but it's only been to the resort a handful of times - it normally only leaves the house if I'm actually traveling in someone elses vehicle or something and need a bag to pack my stuff in instead of putting it in the back of my car.

The key to my car, or to a locker on the mountain. I keep a duffle in the car for garments and the boot bag becomes my "purse" in which goggles, gloves, a book, and reading glasses goes into a locker. Unless the car is parked close by. I prefer to travel light on the mountain and stocked in the car. The book is in case I am found to be waiting for others to be back at the car "on time."

Goggles
Helmet with tune ups.
Boot warmers - get cooold toes easily.
Glove liners - get coooold fingers easier.
Burt's Bees lip balm.

Oh and jacket.... seriously, I forgot this once:doh: ..... I used DH's coat and he wore his fleece liner. It was a spring ski day so he wasn't too cold.

Food!
I always try to have something to munch on in my pocket -- oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, a luna bar, trail mix, half a pb&j (uh, not all at the same time!) -- so that I don't have to go in for lunch or quit too early. I'm usually starving by 10:30 and then again at 3:30.
The next question should be what's the most unlikely food item you've skiied with. So far mine is a hardboiled egg -- which didn't crack! Or freeze... I ate it for lunch. :becky:

I actually forgot mine on Sunday when we were heading to Okemo. Luckily, we were only heading out of town when I realized. But it still added 30+ minutes to our trip (which every minute is precious when you have 2 little ones in the car that you're trying to keep happy).

Whew.... glad to know it's not just me. =)
