What makes a fake

I've had some "good ones" here in the shop... so I took some photos to illustrate why you want to avoid forgery goods. You are most likely NOT getting what you pay for.

This is from the inside of a purported "Steep Tech"jacket. No seam sealing, large stitching, overall poor construction:

The same "Steep Tech" is just falling apart at the seams:

some examples of crappy embroidery: (crooked and rough looking, letter crammed together, not "clean")

An example of non-authentic hardware. Putting the logo/name on everything does not make it real.

More crap construction. Note the flimsy lining fabric that is actually sewn to the exterior of a shell coat!! No seam sealing, etc. This coat here was labeled "Summit Series".

That uneven stitching looks like it came from my Kenmore!!

Thanks GG.

How about a good pic of a sealed seam for everyone that doesn't know what you're talking about?

Great post Geargrrl! You are a true resource for Divas, thank you! I would love to see the same series of photos of an authentic similar type jacket (or similar to what this jacket purports to be).

Thanks for the information about fakes .... happily I never got a fake with all my stuff I bought on eBay!

Shocking... especially the first photo. Thought the fakes are usually louder (more logos) but less obvious.
