What Epic Needs are a few more SkiDivas to give solid advice for these guys who are buying skis for the "wifey poo"!

I've posted in a few threads on EpicSki lately, where men are looking for ski gear information for their girlfriend, wife, and or daughter.
What is astonishing is the volume of men who are giving advice to these guys with absolutely no basis for their information.

There are a few who are somewhat knowledgeable, such as Sierra Jim, among a few others, but why is it that I'm finding myself in debates with guys about real skis, and real demo time, on skis they have not likely seen, let alone skied on?
I know some of you are registered over there. Come help me out!
 
Hey, I'd help you out , but I only demoed 3 ski's last year. Plus my first year back. So I'd have to take the party line, "get them good boots w/a good bootfitter then let them demo ski's from there." Which, in & of itself is good advice.

You're funny. OK, I usually just lurk on Epic 'cause I've had some unpleasant experiences over there, but I did offer my humble recommendation on one thread. Will see what happens.:noidea:

I remember that situation. It was in the Patrol shack and the twit that was poking sticks at you was short lived on Epic because his behaviour was unpleasant and he was not tolerated.

Glad he's gone and you're still around.

Thanks! I love skiing too much to disappear all together, and now I'm just reading a lot trying to see who's nice. More to be seen at ESA Stowe.:yo:
 
SnowHot, I find that the Epic board is filled with a lot of guys whose every other line is "mine is longer than yours" They seem to spend a lot of time talking about what great skiers they are.

However, I do agree that Phil and Jim are a great source of informaiton. What is Phil's connection to the board?

Anyway, I just ordered some new equipment for this year---I got the Kryzmas, the Mag Spice and the Free Spice---I kept my Speed Magics from last year. I did order the Mag Spice in a 158 since I think it is softer than the Speed Magics!! I am all set to have brown boots---but am really happy that they are a more low volume foot, I swam in the the Storms last year--have gone down a size and have gone for the tighter fit. I am not in love with the brown boot--but, I do LOVE the plaid lining!!!!!

He's a fellow moderator and gear geek. He's in charge of Phils Garage, which is the swap area of Epic. I think he does a great job in that area. His lovely wife Lola is a Ski Diva as well as his mother in law, the Lil'Diva, Lil!

I really got excited about the Kryzman but decided to wait a year on it because my Storms are so awesome I figured I'd get one more year out of them.
I'll be posting the quiver thread soon to put up pics of the 08 line up.
