What do you do if one kid skis and the other doesn't?

I have a friend who has one kid who loves to ski, while the other one won't have any part of it. For now, she puts the non-skiing kid in daycare while she skis with the other. Then she makes sure to do something fun later on with the non-skier, to make up for the time spent away.

Hopefully, the non-skiing child will take to skiing when she's a little older. Then again, maybe not.

Anyone here have any experience with this?

Sorry to drag this topic up...but,

I have that same problem. My son loves to ski and board (he's 9) and my daughter wants absoultly nothing to do with either (she's 6). Breaks my heart tho, I put about 75+ days on the hill. But she isnt a big fan of the cold either. I also skiied when I was pregnate with both kids (but I won't say how long I skiied, unless someone asks. but i skiied LATE into my pregancy with dr.'s ok)

Although this year my daughter will take some lessons, and if after the lessons she still doesn't want to I won't push it anymore.

She goes to day care and we go skiing.

Both my kids have their own intrests and sometimes they aren't the same. So I let each one do what they love. Hopefully someday she'll like it.
