Goals for the '06-07 season

Anything particular you want to achieve this coming season? I can think of a few things I want to do:

1) Meet (and ski with!) as many other Divas as possible. From what I've seen here, this is a great group and I'd love to get to know you better!
2) Get through the season uninjured. An injury can put a damper on anyone's season. So I hope I escape unscathed (hope you do, too!).
3) Ski more days than last season. That's right, I'm never satisfied. More, more, more. Just grabby, I guess.
4) Try at least one new mountain. Always fun to mix it up a bit.
5) Improve my skiing, particularly on moguls. I'm okay on a certain type, but once they get too big, too steep, or too icy, I'm out of my league.
6) Have fun! That shouldn't be hard.

What about you?

I want to ski with as many Bears and Divas as possible.
I want to learn, REALLY learn how to ski moguls.
I want to get my husband to stop working long enough to take a ski vacation with me.

1) Ski Harder and faster then I did last year.
2) Have more days away from the resort and in the back country
3) Gain more skiing knowledge
4) Have fun with friends new and old

This may no seem like much, but I just plan to put in the miles and continue to work on my technique. I'm neither the hottest skier around nor the most daring, and advances seem to come my way only in long slow increments.

But I guess that just means I have to ski lots more...

To be able to share my exam taking experience with other canidates.Hopefully I can help them understand the process. I had a few mentors the past 6 years, now I need to pass that on!

What are your skiing goals this season?

Note: this thread was combined with an earlier thread addressing a similar topic -- Ski Diva

Just curious if you have any specific goals for this season. Ski more, do more bumps, not lose anything, whatever.

For me, I want to fine tune my short turns and do what I can to get some experience with bumps and ungroomed runs. I also want to visit a pro boot fitter to work out any issues with my boots or determine if I need new ones. Can you hear the cash register ringing up yet? :D

My goal is to take a good look at obtaining my CSIA level 3 this year. I've taken the course already, but didn't do the exams as I knew I wasn't ready. If I can teach more at a better hill and with some sessioning with the 4's it just might happen. So I'll know more after New Year's. With the condo at Tremblant this year, I hope to do some teaching there. Also the landlords both work there, so do you think I might have an in??

I have three goals.
1. I want to beat all the women in my ski club in the races, and advance my racing level so that I will be an "A" racer by the end of the season.
2. To do the former, I must learn to carve ice. Thus I will be seeking out the skied-off runs after lunch, and working on carving my way down them. No one else will be skiing them, not even on Saturdays, so I'll have lots of room to make my turns. Assuming I can.
3. If it snows this year from the sky so as to allow the growth of mogul fields, which it did not do last year, then I want to learn to ski bumps with grace. Even semi-icy bumps, which is par for the course in New England. This will require better balance and flexibility in fore-aft movements.

Thanks, SkiDiva. I should have looked before I leapt. :o The bright side is that the forum is getting big enough that there are actually duplicate posts now. :D

1) I'd like to try a new ski area this year, possibly Breck, but maybe some place in Vermont (where I have never skied.)
2) I'd like to meet up with some Divas (maybe in Vermont!) or Bears.
3) I'd like to ski more - but this will depend on the Snow Gods blessing the mid-atlantic.
4) I'd like to learn to ski bumps well - but I don't know if my knees can take it.

The leaves are turning, fall is here - winter is just around the bend. Ski season is almost here and I can hardly wait! (I'm driving my kids crazy!)

After my knee surgery at the end of last season: My primary goal is to get exactly back to where I was and/or maybe exceed my skill level a little bit?

I've been annoyingly goal-oriented my entire life, and, even though I'm trying to be less driven, I still find my skills improve better if goals are in place. So tho' weather will play a major role, this year I hope to become comfortable in all manner of powder--I dream of face shots. A big non-skill goal is to get "raccoon eyes" so everyone will grind their teeth in envy when I go back to work.

How about the rest of you?

1. Improve my carving
2. Learn to love bumps (and I'm glad to see I'm not alone in having a love-terror relationship with bump fields!)
3. Get out West at least once this season
