What are NX Fluid Bindings?

Hi everyone  I'm new to The Ski Diva site and my question may be a silly one...but what are NX Fluid Bindings? I'm looking to buy Dynastar Exclusive Legend and they come with NX Fluid Bindings. Thanks!

This is just what Dynastar is calling it's system binding with these skis, essentially a model name.

Welcome!

Are those bindings any good ...

... or would I be better off buying the skis and bindings separate - perhaps Markers or something other?

I'm not sure if the the Dynastars are available flat? If they are their are pluses and minuses to both setups. I'm sure the fluids are fine but I prefer a flat ski with other bindings. I have the Soloman Z10s (I think it's late and I'm too lazy to verify) on my Sweet Fat Thangs and I feel like that system is lighter than my Rossignol Attraxion V with a system binding. There is nothing though that is inherently wrong with a system binding.

Late to the party on this one, sorry about that. All Dynastars come flat. The fluid binding system is new this year, available as an option. I don't know much about it, as mine as last year's and are mounted with Exclusive Nova (Dynastar bought Look) bindings. This is a very lightweight package. Although I'm not sure, I tend to doubt that Dynastar would intentionally compromise their claim to lightweight packages by having a heavy system binding.

MSL, my Fluids are 07-08 models and the bindings are mounted on a rail. I did buy them as demo's, so perhaps they don't have the same mounting as are offered retail. They are Fluid bindings.

It's always been my understanding that skis with thin waists (-70 mm) are raised to avoid possible boot contact with the snow. :noidea:

My Legends are 06-07 models and are flat mounted.

Elaboration: first year widely available on many different models, with a distinct model differentiation for those including bindings. Apparently on the system bandwagon now which has proven successful for others----one less decision for buyer to make?? Not long ago, it was flat, pick your own binding (within realm of compatibility).
