Read a great older book by Kristin Hannah, The Magic Hour, while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta.

Reading the inspector Rebus series by Ian Ranken. He also wrote the series starting with The Complaints, character is Malcolm Fox. Good stories.

Brene Brown, Atlas of the Heart and Rising Strong.

I just finished the Silo Series. They were fun reads! I recommend them for an interesting but easy to read series.

The premise of the books felt refreshing and new.

Now i am reading a book a friend wrote. So no one has heard of it.
Ooooh, now you must tell us the title!

1. Wool
2. Shift
3. Dust

I got into them because Apple TV has a series called Silo based off this trilogy. As per usual i found the books to be better but the show was entertaining enough

I meant this one:

"Now i am reading a book a friend wrote. So no one has heard of it."

I tried Wool, didn't get very far because I wasn't in a good mindset. I watched Silo, really liked the main female character/actress. Later realized it was based on Wool. Thanks for the reminder, I'll check this series out.

I'm listening to 3 Body Problem after watching the Netflix show. So much more detail and explanation of the science concepts. Though, I'm on the second book and there is some very cringey 'dream girl' stuff but otherwise it's such a unique and thought provoking sci-fi concept, it's worth it. LOL if this guy says one more time that his dream woman looks like she could be blown away by a strong gust of wind....

I really enjoyed The Bookbinder of Jericho (it may just be called The Bookbinder in the US) by Pip Williams. It's about a young woman working at a publishing company in Oxford, before, during and just after the first world war.

I've seen this at our local library and wondered what it was like. I'll be getting it out now you've given it the thumbs up

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not bur I just reread A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. A truly wonderful book. I loved Rules of Civility (his first book) and also enjoyed The Lincoln Highway, though maybe not quite as much as the other two.

A recent fave in mysteries has been the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths. Read them in order as there's a "love" interest. Wonderful writing and extremely enjoyable.

Love Elly Griffiths - have you read her other 2 series of books? I especially like the Harbinder Kaur ones. The standalone books are worth checking out too.

The new Kate Atkinson Jackson Brodie mystery is out - Death at the Sign of the Rook. Very good, witty and fun.
