What about the Elizabeth?

I dropped my Blue House MR171's off at Don Orr's today to have the bindings mounted. I am happy to do it now, because the shop is still a bit slow and I had time to talk to Jeff about the graphix lines and where to mount.

I also had a chance to play with the Marker Duke a little bit. THAT is one sweeeeeet binding!!

He pointed out some of his "bargains" (this spells bad news for me). The Best bargain of the bunch, or most intriguing, was the Elizabeth. This seems to be a killer deal at $399.00, but when will I ever use a ski that is 110mm.
She does look sweeet tho doesn't she?
Though its not a sensible ski for me, I would like to know more about it and wondered if there are any Divas who've been on it. Also, if you're interested, I can hook you up with the number for this shop.

Wait a minute -- what about the Blue House? Tell us about those!

I skied the Elizabeths on our New Zealand trip. The conditions were spring corn, and the Elizabeths were great. I had a blast on them!

At first they seemed a little long at 172 because I usually use a bit shorter ski (163cm). After a few minutes, though, I forgot all about the extra length and just enjoyed the smooth, fun ride.

I haven't tried them in powder yet, but they performed so well in the corn snow that I imagine they'll be great fun on groomers and powder.

Really, it all comes down to personal preference, though. I happen to like wider skis, and the Elizabeths delivered a fun ride IMO.

I got the BlueHouse skis when they had their debut price. Just felt the urge to experience this start up ski first hand.

Cloudpeak, I'm not getting the Elizabeth, mostly because I really don't have a need for a 110mm waisted ski in Michigan. Not enough significant snow where I am and runs that are 400 ft vert, just not a good place for a ski like this.
Make no mistake, I thought twice about it at that price!!!

If there is any one interested in it, I'd be happy to hook you up with the shop, or even pick it up and send it to you. This one happens to be the 172.
Its a SWEEEEEEEET ski!

BTW, those Elizabeths are the 2005-2006 models, which were predrilled with metal inserts for the discontinued Line Reactor Bindings. Anyone buying this older version of the Elizabeth should know that mounting regular bindings, while possible, will be difficult.

Newer models of the Elizabeth do not have this problem.

Thanks for the heads up Cloudpeak.
At this point no one has contacted me about the skis, but I will check with the shop to see if they have the matched bindings to go with the skis.
