I just noticed that Copper has received 175" of snow this season and that Stowe has received 199"! Who'd a thunk?

I'm with Jilly. I'm tired of being cold. I've skied the past seven days (either downhill or x-c) and only one day had temps that were kind of reasonable - though wind and snow made it less enjoyable than it should have been.

Or maybe I'm just getting old!

But, looking on the bright side, snow conditions have been great.

My friend and I were talking about that at New Years. Our local ski hill had almost as much as Crested Butte.

not only are the overall temps down this year, but somehow it feels alot colder than at similar temps in past years (at least to me!)...I'm having a hard time getting myself out & staying out because of that :(

It's definately been colder, and I lost some weight at the start of ski season too, so I've been wearing my warmest stuff! However, we haven't had any warm ups since the holidays and I think in past years we're used to the snow, freeze, thaw cycle. I'll take cold temps and consistent snow thankyouverymuch!

Hey, we're finally getting snow again here in Utah after a very warm and sunny week. Yesterday was disgusting - it rained until about 5pm here in Park City, then turned to really wet, heavy snow. It snowed all day today and is still snowing, but it's wet again. Someone came through my liftline today and said it was knee deep up top. So, YAY:yahoo::yahoo:

we're not getting that much snow here - cold enough that we're keeping what we have (so we're not dodging bare spots), but it's pretty solidly packed by now (saturday was definately a "fuzzy formica" day)

Definitely has been one of the colder months I can remember in northern New England (my 8th season here), not sure about resort snow totals around here. Wind has also been a huge factor this year more than others, making for a lot of scoured surfaces.

We were blessed, however, with a rare "wind-less" big snow day last Sunday, not an ounce of wind, stayed cold, so snow was like feathers. Absurdly good. I think most of it has blown into the next county by now :( Even after 18-24" a week ago, Sugarloaf was making snow like crazy on Sunday.

I too am anxiously awaiting the chance to shed a layer, breathe real air (not through a neck gaiter), and wear gloves instead of mittens. AND be able to stay out more than 1+ hour at a time!

Might be a good year to re-visit New England to ski? I have been only skiing out West but love New England for lots of reasons. Keep us informed about your conditions up there. Thanks!
