I'm trying to look ahead to something positive in the future and I would really love to plan a rafting trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon for summer 2021. Has anyone ever done this trip and if so, can you recommend a company? My husband and I would prefer a company with smaller groups where there are good opportunities to kayak/ride in a ducky and learn from guides. We have rafted the Colorado River on a self-guided trip (with others who were very knowledgeable - we were novices), but we want to do a guided one this time around so we can spend less time cooking/cleaning while at camp and more time learning. Would love to hear from anyone who has done this!

Ooohhh. This has been on my radar for a while, though after corresponding with guides I learned that the Middle Fork, while wilder, goes through a lot of burned areas, so I became more interested in the Main Stem. I did some preliminary research but hadn't really narrowed it down yet, though I did decide to eliminate the bigger companies that rafted all over the West in favor of truly local companies. I did notice that just about all of the companies get great reviews--reading reviews didn't make it any easier. I realize this isn't helpful but good luck and I'd love to know what you decide!
