Walk EZ - anyone tried them?

What the title says, really. Did a lot of walking in ski boots last year which killed my calves - of which I was reminded in LDA a couple of weeks ago on the horrendous trips up to the glacier... I've heard good things about cat tracks, but they seem to be more to protect your boot sole than to allow you to walk properly - the Walk EZ things seem to make ski boots more like MBTs. So, has anyone tried them and what do you think? I'm seriously tempted to order them from Father Christmas but will need to get my backside in gear pronto to get them from the US in time for Xmas

I've seen those in magazines. I have the cat tracks and haven't used them. I'm not sure how much better the EZ's would be. I'll see if there are any in the shops as I'm heading up to our condo for the weekend. No snow, so can't ski, but I can shop and clean!

My daughter and son-in-law have them and used them quite a bit last year. They're much easier than Cat Tracks to walk in since they have a built in rocker. My only objection to them is they're kind of bulky, but they just locked them to the ski racks at the bottom and picked them up for the 1 block walk back to our condo. I had a pair of Cat Tracks that got brittle and snapped when trying to put them on - so I'm thinking of trying the Walk-EZ this year. My husband may try them also - he's got cant angles ground into his boots - so it's important that he never walk on a hard surface with his boots.

Thanks for that, Sleddog. We've just picked up backpacks for this season so storage is less of a problem.

I too tried them last year and sleddogs description is very good.

They are easier to walk in then cat tracks because of the rocker, but are too bulky. Another problem I had, is that they would pop off my boot every so often. I wouldn't bother unless you're walking quite a ways. Even then a small pair of shoes in your backpack would probably be a better option.
