I skied Pats Peak yesterday for my first Indy Pass redemption of the year and was surprised at how calm it was. The morning was all skiers that, to your point, were happy to ski the spring conditions. Pats is all manmade snow, which held up really well in the rain.

Love that you took a ski break on a long drive! If you see me this week, give me a shout. After that, my next day should be next Thursday. I'm not doing the women's clinic this year, but I plan to try to ski as many Thursdays as possible to see/have lunch with clinic buddies.

Ugh, forgot that my brother has a dr. appointment on Friday and needs me to drive him. So I guess that means I'm skiing tomorrow. @jmfd84 I'll keep an eye out for you.

Next week is looking pretty good weather wise.

Darn - I've decided not to go tomorrow with the wind forecast (55-60mph gusts for the Worcester area), but do still plan to go on Friday. Maybe see you next Thursday?!

Conditions weren't half bad today. My first warm up runs were on the greens, and once you got out from between the trees at the bottom a gust could almost stop you in your tracks. But once I moved over to the other lifts I really didn't notice the wind much at all. Snow was sugar on a firm-ish base but it was holding up well with only a few icy spots as the day progressed, but those were easy enough to avoid. Best of all, it was pretty quiet until the busses started rolling in (and I rolled out.)

I'm glad the wind wasn't really an issue for you today! I've been slowed to a crawl/stop at the bottom of the greens by wind gusts, too. It can be kind of funny.

Finally got day number 1 in today. Brisk wind but not too crowded. Lifts were just ski on. Conditions were what I'd call "fine". Some places had some super firm hardpack and ice coming through, but mostly normal packed powder type snow overall. The snow guns were on on some trails so that provided a new dusting of snow over the top. I'd wanted to focus on some drills on the greens but the wind was such that at one point I almost stopped moving, so trying to do anything there at slow speed was a no. Did Frannie's and Challenger as well--didn't bother going up top. Overall a pretty good day.

I thought I saw you walk past me in the lodge, but I wasn't sure.

I wan't sure what I was in for when I saw the guns on just about every run except for the greens, but it was coming out pretty dry so no biggie. I'm guessing they'll have them on for the next few days to build up as much as possible.

@diymom I thought I saw you ski under the lift I was on a couple times---were you in a orangish/beige jacket and blue helmet?
Yeah the snow from the guns wasn't really sticky so I was glad of that.

BTW, last night DH asked how the day went. I told him we met you up at the mountain. He said isn't Divegirl the Diva who brought those wonderful homemade chocolate cookies for the get together after Snowbound!! You and your cookies made a lasting impression!
Please thank him for me. I never went home w/ so little leftover cookies as I did that night

Arrgghhh. I was planning on skiing on Monday. And then today in my exercise class someone asked if there would still be class on Monday since it was president's day. Well, at least I was reminded that it was a holiday and my pass would be blacked out before I drove there.

Hmm, maybe I should see where I can go on my Indy base on Monday.
