Wachusett '24-'25

The mornings are cooler, and I'm starting to look forward to beanie weather when walking my dogs in the morning. @Divegirl and @marzNC have already posted about future events at Wachusett. I guess that means it is time for this season's thread.

I went to the Labor Day weekend event with @Divegirl. I was happy not to see any ski deal that was too good to pass up since I really don't need anything. It was fun to ride up the lift to the summit. I'd never gone up without snow on the ground, and also never walked up to the true summit past the lift. You could look out in all directions, and there were signs pointing out all of the peaks and landmarks in the distance. Unfortunately it was a little cloudy though, so we couldn't make everything out.

And as @Divegirl mentioned in the previous thread, we asked about the Wine, Cheese, Chicks and Skis event. I had a little panic moment at first when we were told that the date would be during the Snowbound Expo weekend, but they double checked the dates and it is the weekend before which makes more sense since Wachusett is a sponsor. Everyone who went to the event last year should at some point get an email to register for this year.

Looking forward to skiing with my diva buddies again this year!

Has anyone heard anything about the Women's Ski Clinic 2025? Usually it is December before anything is announced. Maybe we will get lunch vouchers this year!!!

Here are a few pics I took in early June when I stopped by Wachusett on the way to Boston for my 50th high school reunion for Concord Academy. Was fun driving up the road that I'd skied on when my daughter was at the Cambridge School of Weston.

I ended up hiking Wachusett on the Friday of the ski swap and put my Absolut Joys up for sale. They sold in the 45 minutes I was eating lunch outside at the picnic tables! Woohoo! I chose the COW card option for payment.

While at the swap, an employee asked us if we knew about the new 6 pack lift going in for next winter. We did, but he shared some new info - that the deload area at the top of the mountain is too small for the 6 pack, so they are looking into expanding that entire area. It already gets crowded up there with the current quad, so I see the point. It will be interesting to see what land they are able to add to the ski lift area, as one of the hiking trails goes right past it.

I haven't heard info yet, but I wouldn't count on lunch vouchers being included again. Last year was supposed to be just one voucher for the first week only, but participants pushed back and got vouchers for the rest of the program.

Who all is considering doing the clinic this year? I would like to, but am waiting to see how many of the session dates might conflict with my planned trips. But even if I don't, I'll likely still be skiing on Thursdays since a neighbor/ friend is planning on doing the clinic.

@diymom - I'm interested but like you I want to see the schedule. I wish they had a consecutive day clinic so I could block the time right away.

I haven't received the email yet that Wachusett is supposed to send out today about the Wine, Cheese, Chicks, and Skis event, but it is up on the event calendar already. I just bought my ticket. Who else is going?

Whoops, guess I did get the email as well, how else would I have known that the tickets went on sale today

Thinking about attending. Looking at the website now... Is this a well attended event?

I'd say it is well attended. They do have a limited number of tickets and always sell out.

Just wanted to let you know I won't make it to Wine, Cheese, Chick's and Skis tonight as I have to attend a funeral today.

Whoops I totally missed this somehow…. What a bummer because I could have attended today. I do have an early morning tomorrow though heading down to Big Snow and I need to get ready for my trip to CA on Monday, so maybe for the best.

Have fun! I’ll definitely be hoping to do this again next year.

I just found out that Wachusett has an app. Am I the only one who didn't know this? It will make checking out the snow report easier for me. I read that passholders will be able to track days and runs on it too.

I just checked the events calendar, and their early season demo day is scheduled for December 14.

No updated info on the women's clinic yet. I'll ask at Snowbound but I'm guessing they won't know anything either.

I have their app (and I do use it to check the snow report/look at cams), but I didn't know it tracks usage. I'll check it out - maybe I need to update it for this season.

I have the app--I typically use it when I'm there to check the temperature or see about any events that are happening that day. A couple times the temp/weather hadn't updated properly so it wasn't super reliable.
