I have not personally tried the TigerShark but I ski with someone who bought them. He really likes the TigerShark...hold on because they seem to only know one speed...FAST! I guess the switch thing on the tail is not a gimmick, it does work.

I demoed the TS 12ft Switch in January. The switch is not a gimmick! Switch on or off, the 12ft is a burly race style ski that cherishes the highest speeds and is not for the faint of heart. With the switch on it becomes a true race ski and requires a skilled and attentive pilot.

Thanks, the Tigershark definately sounds like too much ski for me. I have tried the Attiva AC3 and loved it, but I did not get to try it at full speed or on ice. After feeling how much I have to fight my Missdemeanors on hard pack at speed, I was worried about women's skis being too soft. My K2 Axis xr are awsome on the hardpack and ice and are completely stabe when I want to go fast, but get wonky as soon as they hit the soft stuff.

You can have a look at my review of my attiva ac3s in another thread. I did not get to put them on true ice - the ice yesterday was covered by nice soft snow, but when I broke through to the ice they felt very sure. Also got to push them at speed and they felt very solid as fast as I could push them.

I've found all the K2s I've tried to be too soft for me, with the exception of the Outlaw - it's a BEAST! I don't think you'll find the upper end women's skis from Nordica or Volkl to be too soft at all.

Thanks guys. The Tigershark 10 were cheaper than the Fuego's and the AC2 were less. However, since $$ is tight and after all your comments, I think I will wait and keep an eye out for a really good deal on the Fuego's. Since the snow has been better this year, I have been able to gain a better understanding of my current skis limits and trying to determine what kind of ski would work best for me.

Does anyone have any experience with the TS 8ft? I'm looking at a used pair online for $350 in excellent condition. They're 2010's. I ski a 2011 K2 Lotta Luv right now and I want something with a narrower waist and grippier (for the East Coast ice, of course!). Any input would be great!

I would suggest that the 8 is merely a tuned-down version of the 12/10 and would be a great ski for your needs. However, they are going to feel VERY different from your K2s. While K2s tend to be damp and forgiving, Volkls tend toward more lively and less tolerant. For this reason, the Volkl "feel" is often a love-it or hate-it kind of thing.

How is the length on the TS's going to be? These are 161's and my K2's are 156. I have skied a 161, but it was a K2 Misdemeanor. I didn't find the length a problem on those. I also found a pair of P60's that are 155's. I don't know really what to expect with these kind of skis, but I really just want something that's a good deal to use on ice days.

Volkl measures full length while K2 measures running length so you may find the 2 sizes to look/ski very much the same.
Which P60s are you looking at??? It it's the SL, they are an awesome ice ski and, strangely, the World Cup/Race Stock version is quite soft and tons of fun to ski. In fact, DHs 165 SL race skis have become my go-to carver ski over my 6 Stars. The SL is so forgiving, in fact, I've taught 3 never-evers to ski on my 155s.
*Edit....I think I found the ones you're looking at. Yes, buy them!! That's a great deal and you'll love them.
