Question: Volkl Blaze 86?

One of the things brought up amongst our testers is that, though this ski is offered in sizes from 153 to 181, some of the bigger guys felt that they could overpower it.
Phil phelt that he was between sizes 174 and 181.
There may be a reason that lighter or more finesse style skiers really love it.
That makes sense. I debated between the 160 and the 167 - which I had demoed. That would normally be the high end of my ski length but it doesn’t feel that way at all. I’m glad I bought the 167.

There was no difference between the men’s and women’s version other than top sheet color - women’s yellow and men’s blue. For 2025 they stopped that silliness and just have one version in a very pretty blueish turquoise color.
This.
They really don't have genger specific ski gear but they do have different graphics that may appeal to women vs men.

Oh yeah! - that turquoise is really nice!

I really like what Fischer is doing with their skis. They will put a WS on a ski but not call it a women's ski specifically. They want to make sure bigger women and smaller guys can all ski the appropriate skis in appropriate flexes and shapes.
Offering two different colors makes a bit of fun for everyone.

I could have a Fischer quiver. Sir/Ma’am, I’d like to see the turquoise Ranger 84 in a 156cm, please.

Mmmmmm I might try and hop on a pair of Fischers, DH has them and loves them but the last time I demoed a pair they had the worst tune ever and I thought I might die getting back down the hill, its put me off them ever since but perhaps the time has come to give them another go.

And I'd like to see it in a 153..... unless there is a 156. Current skis are 156-157.

I think the 2024 Fischer Ranger 84 comes in a 153cm, currently available on sale, while the 2025 version starts at 156cm. I am not sure that one is available yet.

I don’t think they make a 156. The sizes are 153, 160, 167. You would be fine on the 160. I ski the 167 when, normally, I would ski 160-163.

I can't remember where I saw that about the 156 length for the 2025 Ranger 84. Maybe it was a typo, but it jumped out at me because I didn't want a 153 but wanted to stay shorter than 160. With rocker tips and tails, the 160 would be fine.

I know this is a Volkl Blaze thread, but I'd like to check out the Volkl Blaze 86 in a 153 (or so) and the Fischer Ranger 84 in a 153 for my narrow wide ski quiver.
