Hi everyone

Im trying to decide between these 2 skis!! I want to buy a pair as soon as possible and have looked at all available reviews but just dont know which ones will be better. Last season a skied on Line Motherships, i found them to be the most boring sluggish boards ive ever used and am hoping for something easier and more fun that are capable of getting onto an edge! if anyone has some advice that'd be super!!

We'd love to help, but we'll need to know more first. What type of skier are you? Beginner, intermediate, advanced? And what type of conditions do you ski? Groomed runs? Moguls? The more you can tell us about your skiing, the better.

BTW, Welcome to TheSkiDiva!

hi

im a quite advanced skier, ex ski instructor of few yrs, 22 y.o, i mainly ski park but need to get back into the powder after i skied little last season because of the disapointing Line motherships! I want a fairly fat powder ski that'll be fun and not a burdon! but that's also good on hardpack, i thought the nancy or aura were the best possibilities?? thanks for the help!!

Here's a review of the Aura: https://www.theskidiva.com/forums/showthread.php?t=775
I can tell you that in my experience, every K2 I've ever been on gave me that same sluggish, boring feeling. My Karmas, on the other hand (the men's version of the Kaya park ski), just rocks. It skids easily, carves easily, and skis backwards better than I do ;) . The men's reviews of the Mantra (their version of the Aura) have all been outstanding, although neither are marketed as a park ski. I have not yet seen any reviews on the Nancy.

I'd suggest you think about Head Sweet Fat Thangs--I bought them for powder, but am astonished at how good they are on hard pack, in choppy crud and in the bumps. I bought them about 12 cm longer than my carving skis, but they feel the same length. The Nancy and Aura were also on my short lists to try, along with Salomon's Scarlet and Dynastar's Snoop Daddy, but didn't bother trying any of these after I was so wowed by the Sweet Fat Thangs. Each time I ski them I like them better.

I have some Volkl Queen Attivas, which aren't as wide as the Auras (87 underfoot), but they ride very nicely on the hard stuff, and I'm sure the Auras would be similar.

LOVE the aura's

Man--I just joined skidiva.com 5 minutes ago and there are so many interesting discussions! I don't know a thing about the Nancy's--but I couldn't resist a pitch for the Aura's. I demod them on a 5 inches of new snow day and was SO impressed. I skiied better than I ever had--and I could easily control them in all the conditions i faced--which were incredibly variable. I've never been a park skier so I don't know how they'd do for you--but it felt to me that they could take on the anything. Much more versatile then I was expecting from 94 underfoot.

I, too, love the Auras, which I ski in a 163. They've been my every day ski this year. I haven't had any problems putting these skis on edge. They've been great in most conditions, including hardpack groomers, cut up snow, crud, and moderately deep powder.
