Interesting. I know people develop really close bonds with horses, there are many women's groups that revolve around horses being the kindred spirits of females, and there are alot of equine activities that are highly therapeutic and are very successful as such so I can see where there could be a really strong bond between the two. It sounds like they supply the horses so I would think this could be a great duty for older mellow horses that are beyond their years of jumping and barreling or hard riding to get some attention. Which is good, I see far too many of these types horses sitting idle and just getting hay thrown at them a couple times a day so I like that aspect.

No, sadly my work schedule has not allowed (and in fact just led to a job change)- but they're not going anywhere, so I likely will this spring!
