Turtle Fur !

I was thinking about ordering a Turtle Fur balaclava and neck gaitor, just to get ready for next season. Does anyone use these?
I think it would be thin enough to fit under my helmet and still be comfy.
There were some windy days last winter where I really could have used something on my face and I was too stubborn to buy anything.

I almost always use a turtle fur neck gaiter when I ski, pulled up to cover the lower part of my face. Most of the time, that's enough. I don't feel the need to have anything under my helmet. I'm warm enough without it.

For when it gets really, really cold, I'll wear a face mask. The one I have is a bit unusual; it actually captures your body heat to warm the air before you inhale, so you actually stay warmer. And there's a small plastic module that keeps the mosture away from your face, too, so you stay drier. (You can see it here).

On the downside, though, it is really, really ugly. I mean, I think I look like Darth Vader when I wear it. But it does the job, and that's what really counts.

I wear a balaklava (sp?) that I got from a snowmobile dealership years ago. I'm not even sure of the name brand but its super thin, but oh so warm.
I also have a few neck gaiter choices in different warmth for different days.

Anything to be more comfortable on the hill!!!

I have a balaclava (Seirus I think) that I've worn before. It kept me warm and dry enough to keep skiing (in fact it works really well) when I've would've otherwise been forced to stop.

Thanks for all the replies ! Glad to see that lots of us are still thinking about ski stuff !!
Ski Diva, those are some crazy lookin' outfits for keeping the face warm, but I bet they work great! Even with my helmet on I have been cold.....so I think I'm going to get something that covers everything. Thanks for the link, they welcome Canadian orders !
I do ski at a couple of places that are not well sheltered and can get very windy, not pleasant.....and if the snow starts to get wipped around, it can be miserable.

I have a regular helment liner, a neck gaitor, and a Turtle Fur balaclava for the coldest days. The balaclava works great and is pleasantly cosy on my face.

I'm usually so warm under my helmet I can't imagine using a clava, but I do have a couple of face masks and an assortment of Turtle Fur neck gaitors. Don't like the masks, but some days you just HAVE to use one; almost always wear a neck gaitor to prevent "downdrafts".

Also recently discovered that, in addition to the traditional double-layer neck gaitors, Turtle Fur has single layer ones that are lighter weight, less furry - and in some fun prints & different colors too.

I have worn a thin turtle fur hat under my helmet, and it was fine, although I really don't feel like I need anything besides just the helmet.

I have neck gaiter from Powderfish, and it is great because it is lined with wicking material so your mouth doesn't get all wet and the gaiter doesn't freeze up like my turtle fur one does. It's also thinner but stops the wind just as well. I love it!

It looks like they also offer balaclavas.
