Trust...

Do you have 5 people that you REALLY trust.
I mean REALLY trust.....
They'd be there in a MOMENT of need no matter what.
They'd commit and NOT bail on you.
They'd hold your deepest thoughts and secrets and not use them against you or for gossip?

I got to thinking about this.

Do you REALLY have 5 people in your life that you can trust....no matter what!?

Yes, but they are all family.

There are a few that are really close to that point but maybe the test just hasn't happened yet.

Yes, and I'm so thankful. Being that close with several people takes a lot of time and energy, and is worth every second.

I'd have to say the same as Robyn. They're family. The test really hasn't been tried. As for freinds. Maybe a couple, but not sure there either.

That's a tough question...definitely a couple family members, perhaps a couple friends. Glad I haven't had a reason to find out!

Absolutely.
Without a doubt, I can count 5+ people who, not only can be trusted as you describe, but have proven it in the past.
I hadn't thought about it on these terms, but count myself fortunate to have these profound people in my life.

No...unfortunately. :(

There might be two in my life. An ex-boyfriend that truly was my best friend...it was just the wrong time in our lives. I would still trust him to this day. And two friends right now. :D

I know you like Bubbles, and he is a great guy, but it is not him.:becky:

Gotcha!!
Well....you have some nice friends! I'm glad you have old boyfriends that you can trust. I have one of those, too. Problem is, his wife hates me....so we won't be having them over for a barbeque any time soon.

Bubbles IS a great guy...and really fun to ski with! That day was a TRUE highlight of the year for me! I just LOVED all of you!!!!

I feel very fortunate to say that I have both friends and family members that fit into this category. The security of knowing that I do, has allowed me to take some steps in life that I might not if I didn't have that support.

I have 2 such people in my life: my husband who has been my partner for the past 7 years, and my best friend who has been my close friend since 1972 (when we were 12 and met at summer camp in Maine). .

I have several of these friends, and they might as well not be friends anymore. They're family, 100% My family and their families know it, too.

It's great every time I hear about someone older than me who has that friend/those friends. Especially when they're way older than Ski Now, like a pair I know who are 74 and 75, who've been best friends since their teens.

My best friend - the one I can trust - is the daughter of my mom's best friend. Both our moms are gone now. She and I were thrown into a playpen together when we were toddlers (she's a year older than I) -- we fought then and we fight now, like sisters, but I love her dearly. She's now 60, I'm almost 59.

We haven't lived in the same state since 1967, but she calls me almost every morning on her way to work.

So I guess we qualify as one of the long-termers, eh, num?

Sadly, no. Even those who claim I can lean on them no matter what have dissipated during my recent crisis. Though my mom actually came through for me for once in my life; not like her at all.

The one I lost most recently hits the hardest though. I thought I could trust him no matter what, with my life and everything in it. I was wrong.
