Found the pictures of the TSV main base that I annotated for the Feb 2023 trip report.

The Snakedance condo building has three places used a lot by the public: TSV ski school office, Hondo restaurant, Bumps Market. To get to bumps from the upper plaza, go down the stairs that led to the gondolita. The gondolita goes between the main plaza and the Children's Ski School.

Instead of having a ski patrol medical office, TSV has Mogul Medical Urgent Care. The office is next to the Children's Ski School. If you go to Mogul Medical in the late afternoon, keep in mind that the gondolita may close before someone being treated is ready to leave. The official hours are 9:00-4:30, same as lifts.

Anyone having issues with altitude adjustment can get advice and help at Mogul Medical. They can provide Diamox. Also have oxygen concentrators that can be rented by the day.

When ski patrol brings someone down in a sled, they take them to Mogul Medical.

Divas,

The Ridge-A-Thon at Taos Ski Valley starts tomorrow. It's an annual charity event where skiers hike the ridge and ski down as many times as they can over two days. It's an incredible feat (many people get over 30 laps in two days, including the long hike to Kachina Peak.) More information on the event below. If you want to sponsor an athlete (maybe you know one of them!) please go here. Information on the Taos Community Foundation here.

Join us for Ridge-A-Thon on February 20-21st, 2026!

Ben Meyers Ridge-A-Thon is an annual 2-day charity snowsports event, hosted at Taos Ski Valley (TSV), and organized by the team at Taos Community Foundation (TCF).
This year's event will take place from February 20-21st, 2026.
This tradition began as a way to honor the life and legacy of Ben Meyers, a local Taos skier who tragically lost his life to cancer. In his memory, some of his close friends began skiing to raise money for those facing insurmountable medical costs, establishing the first Ridge-A-Thon in 1996.
For 30 years now, Ridge-A-Thon participants and donors have raised donations to support the Emergency Medicine Funds at TCF. The Emergency Medicine Funds give annual grants to nonprofit organizations that provide equitable access to healthcare and medicine for residents of Taos and western Colfax counties.

After the 9-inch snowstorm, bumps are building up again. Hunzinger was too much fun to stop to take pictures this afternoon. The snow on the Kachina side was powdery, not fluffy but very skiable.

The Whistlestop has gone from being open inconsistently for food service to serving breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

When the weather is nice, can eat outdoors at the Phoenix BBQ. If it's cold or windy, there are tables inside the building. There are interior stairs to go down to the lower level where the restrooms are located.

For future reference, here are the rates for Taos Rides as of 2026. Can call or email to ask questions. $20 more to get to TSV slopeside from the ABQ airport instead of stopping in the town of Taos, about 30 minutes closer.

It also has the best selection of vegetarian and vegan offerings. Their Dal is exceptional, and even the small bowl ($7) is quite a meal! The Manager and Staff there are also very cool folks!

As noted by @TNtoTaos in a separate thread, there is now a small museum at TSV that is preserving the living history of the mountain. Check out her pictures.

@Peppermint , Ava (her college-age daughter), Rita, and I have been having a great time so far this week, despite less than stellar snow conditions. The nights have been dipping down into the 20's, and mornings have been hovering around the low 30's, so morning skiing has been good, especially after the teen crowd goes through and cuts up the firm snow. (Honestly, I don't know how the groomers are able to get such good surfaces considering they have such a minimal amount of snow to work with! Kudos to them!) Needless to say, afternoon skiing is out this wk, as the temps rise into the high 30's after lunch, but the instructors are keeping their classes going until 12:30+, so our friends have been pretty wiped-out by lunchtime, anyway  .

@Peppermint and Ava are New England skiers, so they're loving the conditions, LOL, and despite her protestations ("I don't ski bumps"), Instructor Nick is teaching her 3-person class to do the bumps on Shalako, and has assured them that these bumps are "horrible", so that if they can learn on these they can ski any bumps! Meanwhile, Ava's 2-person group rode the Kachina lift today, hiked to the peak, and skied down!
We all had a great lunch at the Whistlestop today, and are planning to have dinner tomorrow at La Cueva.

Was the high elevation for terrain off the Kachina lift enough to mean skiing cold snow that hadn't melted at all?

Are there any spring break folks around yet? Or is that only happening next week? I know the Value Pass is blacked out March 14-19.

Hmm, just noticed that 2026-27 season passes are on sale already. Someone who buys for next season can start using a premium pass on March 10 and value pass on March 23. Also new is free Pass Assurance that means a full refund if the decision is made before Oct. 31, 2026.

Ava said the snow was good up top, soft, but not too soft. And it is busier this week -- definitely some spring break folks (including Ava), but definitely not as many as we usually see during the blacked-out week. The temps are supposed to be in the 40's all next week (mid-30's at night), though, so I'm pretty concerned that the week may not work out very well for the resort.

Wow, I hadn't seen that passes were on sale already! But I doubt there will be much left to ski on by March 23rd -- I'll be surprised if they don't close early. Sandia, Santa Fe, and Pajarito have all closed for the season.

The spring sale for TSV season passes for 2026-27 has several new features. The Midweek pass will include Fridays instead of being Mon-Thu. Midweek is about $200 less compared to a Value pass. A Value pass is good on weekends, except for the holiday blackout dates and spring break week. The holiday black out dates after New Year's are Jan. 16-17, Feb. 13-14, and March 13-18, 2027.

For the recent season when Diva West was at Alta, I made travel plans based on having a Senior Pass for Alta and a Senior Value Pass for TSV. Those are two of my Top Five in the west where I usually ski more than 7 days, even if I only do one trip. Some seasons in the last decade I've combined Ikon with Mountain Collective when my plans included other destination resorts on Ikon and/or MC.

Many Taos locals are moving onto other resorts or activities. The seasonal locker room has been dead this past week. The snow is in late spring conditions, even the slopes in higher elevations are either too slick or too soft but some snow is better than no snow at all, so people will still come for spring break.
