Let’s wait and see if Vail will end up buying Taos. There were a few Vail corporate jets in Taos a few weeks ago.
That would work quite well for me instead of paying another $525 to ski.

Maybe that’s why Vail hasn’t announced their Epic pass prices yet. They want to lock down bringing Taos onboard. Recall Vail lowered Epic prices by 20% this season. After the bad PR they had, it would take something that big to get people coming back to their pre-pandemic prices.

I’m sure they will raise their prices for next season and that’s fine. All my accommodations are at or near Vail resorts.

Taos is committed to Ikon and the MCP for 2022-23. Those passes are already available. So nothing will change for next season.

The Vail rumor has been circulating in Taos among staff and locals. No idea how it started.

The open question is what will be done with the interior of the St. Bernard. From reports, the next phase for the St. B. is based on an understanding between Jean Mayer and Louis Bacon.
The answers about the future of the St. Bernard came out in August. Thought it would be good to add info here for people who find this trip report later on. Bottom line is that the old building couldn't be renovated but the design of the new buildings will honor the traditions created by Jean Mayer. The new St. Bernard won't re-open until 2025.
