I started out my week of skiing by spending time in Summit County at Keystone and A-Basin with Mr SH and John. We were fortunate enough to have 8" of fresh at keystone and took advantage of a small hike to off of the Outback Chair and hit the North Bowl. Allz I gotz ta say is WHOOO HOOOO!

A-Basin was fun groomers with some soft bumps thrown it, but all in all, it was a great warm up to ESA Aspen Snowmass!!!

No pics of Keystone but Abasin served up an opportunity to meet Olivia. She is the girl who's JDRF walk, we supported last fall after spending time at her family's condo during Abasin Mothers day weekend.

Time is short for posting pics now, but I'll be back tonight with some stuff from Aspen Snowmass!

You know me sooooo well.

My adventure to ESA Aspen Snowmass was somewhat unplanned. I was supposed to be on Colorado on vacation with Terry, when folks who were heading to ESA encouraged me to join them. I did, and I requested a bump specific group.

I got Charlie as a coach, Wow wow wow!!!
I will be honest and say that I did not take tons of on slope pics because we were spending a ton of time skiing and learning, which meant my mind was not on my camera.
*I was the only girl in the group until Margaritamarcia joined us, Yay!!! She is a ton of fun!
Okay here we go.....
Day one, we worked on rounding our turns and slowing down, since all of us were speed freaks and that is not cool in moguls.

We concentrated on skiing some tiny bumps(otherwise known as bimps) and some powder push(fortunate to have some fresh snow:smile:)

Day two we went to Highlands and got into some modest bump fields(Charlie's description of the anatomy of a bump is an eye opener)

Later that night, we had a great session on Waxing and tuning your own skis.
Terry Akerman from Slidewright is the guy to talk to if you'd like more info on that topic.

Special note:
Weems was able to share the Aspen movie- Ripple Effect - with us that included Wallace prior to his passing. It is an inspiring movie that shows the spirit of this awesome place as well as the tremendous character of those young kids/adults who live and breath this sport and Aspen!

The tribute to Wallace by his peers during this movie is a tremendous testimony to the footprint he has left on this mountain, and in the hearts of those he came in contact with.

Thank you Weems for sharing this with us.

ESA Aspen was, as SnowHot reports, absolutely WONDERFUL. There were magnificent vistas, diamonds in the snow, belly laughs on the snow, and tears from the Wallace rememberance. New freindships were forged and older friendships grown. What a fantastic community. ALL the coaches were great; loved having Charlie MacArthur as our coach. WONDERFUL advancements. Weems, Nolo, Bob Barnes, Robin, Charlie, SH, et al......thank you. Can't wait til the next one I can join in....maybe Big Sky? New name added to Margarita Marcia: Happy Pants! Note the screamin' yellow Marmots in SnowHot's photos!
