3/30/08 - It just doesn't get any better than the kind of weather we had today: 40+, bluebird, softening snow, and Maine Divas FINALLY meeting!!

First hook-up was atlantiqueen, skiwishes, MSL and Mr MSL (who is MIA due to photo duty:smile:)

skiwishes then went off to teach a private lesson.

Next hook-up was with BKH319 and Mr BKH319, along with atlantiqueen, MSL and Mr MSL. Mr BKH is is a "dark sider" but a fabulous rider, and those 2 can really rip it up!

Please, no telling on me to my physical therapist about my no-no pose of hyperflexing and weighting! :nono:

The silly shots from last Friday with atlantiqueen and MSL hamming it up are in HER camera, as my battery decided to quit, so it's up to her to add to this thread!! We were hamming it up in a few inches of rather wet, heavy stuff but did manage some first tracks.

And a quick nod to Mr MSL, who finally gets in the picture, patting his new girlfriend:

A fun day! More next weekend from Sugarloaf!

With thanks to all who took the time and had the requisite patience to achieve the hook-up - which is not altogether easy at a resort that is SOOOOO wide (3+ miles!!), and with all of us parked at different lots. Played a lot of phone tag. Had to be one of the most awesome weather days of the season, though, making the wait feel like "a day at the beach!" :D All who were there will confirm!! Thanks, fellow Maine divas! Let's do this again soon!

MSL, We had a great time with everyone! I hear that the "loaf" opened up the Snowfields! Will let you know when we plan this weekend. You and Mr. MSL tired us out :becky:

^^^ Indeed, was kind of hard convincing DH to wait til Thurs to ski, given the snowfields being open last weekend and today (which happens, what, one week per season?)(except for the legendary last Aprill!!) That crazy guy simply had to go do Shock Wave when we "headed east." Obsession was about as much as I had left in me! We wound up not getting out of that place til between 4 and 4:30  Keep us posted on your plans!!

next weekend is Sugarloaf? I might have to try to make that one. Looks like tons of FUN!
So??? How 'bout it?? Any chance of talking the whole family into coming along? Rates are way down now for lodging up there!! (not the following weekend, which is Reggae Fest, a/k/a drink drink party party)

Due to technical difficulties (me being too slow to remember to bring camera to internet cafe --- duh:redface: ) no photos yet...stay tuned!

It was 2 fun days - playing in the boarder cross with MSL and Mr. MSL on Friday and then hooking up for some turns with skiwishes, BKH319 (and Mr. BKH), MSL and Mr. MSL on Sunday.

Good times!

More to come!

Looks like it was a blast!
Almost literally - BKH and Mr BKH have a serious need for speed :becky: We blasted down one connector run (empty), and one of my contact lenses started to come loose in my eye, under goggles and all. Would have liked to put a Garmin on that shot, yaaaaahoooooo! NO margin for error at those speeds!

And you waving your arms in the air over every knoll :becky: - skiwishes would have been proud of you for being SIX! (and my physical therapist would have killed me!)

Talked to the owner at local ski shop today, he was there for all the excitement --- said the Timberline chair had a 1/2 hour wait  and it pretty much was all skied off within an hour.....BUT IT'S SNOWING NOW!
