Ski Diva Extraordinaire
This past Sunday I went touring with my dad and his ski posse- they call themselves the FOGS (which is an acronym for Bleepin’ Old Guys). I love skiing my with my pops (dad), he is an amazing powder skier and knows the area like the back of his hand. I have gone touring several times this winter with the FOGS and have regretted not bringing my camera.
We decided to skin to “The Rock” first.
Here I am getting ready to make the first run down “The Rock”.
The snow was amazing…
My dad:
FOG #1 (Randy)
FOG #2 (Steve)
The snow was so great we had to make several more laps back, we had to make sure the snow was good and chopped up
Here I am making some turns…I have already been razzed about the 70’s style arms…I don’t always look like I am trying to fly
After spending three hours at the Rock we decided to head to the Beach which is a “patio” located at the bottom of a chair lift at Bogus Basin. Here are the FOGS enjoying the sun and beer.
After lunch we decided to head into Macks Creek. We skied down about 1,300 feet into Macks Creek. The turns were great but skinning was not so fun. There was an ice crust underneath that made it difficult to skin up anything over a 35 degree angle. We didn’t have any crampons so we ended up taking the skis off and boot packing 900 feet back to the top…not such a fun thing to do at the end of the day :(
All in all it was a great day and I had to share it with the Divas
