TR: Beaver Mountain mini-hike

Since the snow in the mountains does not appear to be going anywhere anytime soon, Tim and I decided to go for a mini hike up at Beaver Mountain. It was a great day, and some nice spring snow.

After we got to the top, and I locked my bindings down (or so I thought) I dove in first. I felt really unstable, and thought that it had something to do with the fact that I had not been skiing in a few weeks. After the third turn I just pitched forward. Thankfully we were not on anything really steep or with any obstacles in the way. Tim regrets that we did not have this spectacular fall on video or photo footage.

Here are some pics from the day:

nice pix.

What are those little orangey things off the ends of your skis, are those part of skins?

Yeah, the orange things are the clips from my skins.

- It was fun to get out for some exercize. Maybe one of these days I will be prepared for a real hike/climb. But for now, this is fun.
