Toe warmers vs full footbed warmers

I know there have been threads about people using those air activated toe warmers in their ski boots and having success with those, but has anyone ever used the ones that are full footbeds (I think the brand is Heat Treat by Grabber or something like that)?

For those who have used just the toe warmers, do you find it keeps the rest of your foot warm as well or just the toes? I'm looking for a way to keep the arch of my foot from becoming cold/cool when skiing; due to a foot problem which has plagued me over the last few months, several visits to the doctor and much fretting on my part since I haven't yet been able to ski this year (due to the original diagnosis being incorrect), I have determined that I have very tight/aggravated flexor tendons in the bottom of my foot. My feet do fine when they are kept warm, but get pain in the arches when they get cold, which causes the tendons to tighten up.
Thanks

I haven't used the full footbed warmers personally but my aunt who has chronically cold feet has and really likes them.

I wouldn't use the full footbed ones because they would certainly interfere with the fit of my boot and footbed. The toe ones I can use on top of my toes and therefore they don't interefere with anything. And if my toes stay warm, the rest of my feet are fine.

My kids use them and like them. I can't fit them in my boot, like AG and VG point out, but if you don't have a tight fit and custom footbeds, it might not be a problem. They aren't too $$, so give them a try. You have a different situation than most of us.

Boot Glove

If you don't want aything in your boots then try the Boot Glove. Put them on over dry warm boots and on really cold days put a toe warmer under it. I love my Boot Glove. I can not put anything in my boots so this works great. Make sure you don't get snow under the Boot Glove.

I have Thermics in my boots - I have the Atomic boots that are prewired - the inner has heating elements built into it, then you just need to buy the rechargeable heater packs which attach to the outside of your boots.

My husband has the 'after market' equivalent - installed by a boot fitter.

These things are great - they keep your feet comfortably warm all day, and they take up no room at all inside your boot.

If you suffer from chronically cold feet you will not regret investing in these things.

I just bought new Salomon boot with built in Thermic heaters. I had custom cork footbeds made for them and the bootfitter installed the Thermic heater in my custom footbeds.

I was recently skiing at Mont Tremblant in -24 Celsius weather (that's REALLY cold) and had a good experience with the heaters, although one of my battery packs did run out of juice the first day.

I think that's because they've only been charged up a couple of times. Also, I had them turned up a little higher (mine have 3 settings).

Skigirl, Thanks for the advice about the boot glove -- I have been really intrigued as my feet have been particularly cold this year. I love the idea of adding the toe warmer underneath! Genius!

I wonder if they keep the BOOT warm?

I don't have cold feet. But I just realize my boot got a lot smaller on colder days. So what was comfortably tight in March (when I first got my boot) was painfully tight in December!!!

This is such a good question. I have had a couple of incredibly cold days this year where I swear my boots were made of ice! Not only do they feel uncomfortable while I'm skiing on days like that, but forget about getting them off! I am not sure I am ready to invest in thermics, but I'm getting closer...
