Thoughts on buying a season pass

Boyne Resorts seems intent on taking care of season passholders, even if that means fewer passes are sold before the season starts. Pass sales for Big Sky ended on June 15. Sunday River pass sales also didn't continue thru July.

Just double-checked. As expected, Boyne policy is consistent across all regions. So no passes available during the summer for Big Sky, Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Loon, Boyne Mountain, and Boyne Highlands. I would guess that the decision on whether or not to offer more season passes in the fall may differ between regions.

Decided to check a few Powdr resorts in terms of season pass sales. Mt. Bachelor, Copper, Killington, and Snowbird all have passes available as of August 1. Snowbird has a new version called the Superior pass that adds Ikon Base for a few hundred dollars more than a full season pass. The deadline for the lowest price for Snowbird was extended to August 7, apparently for software issues.

I’m not sure about the others, but SR’s website says they will have ticket and passes available again this fall, but that the offerings will be different than usual. Whatever that means.. You can currently book ski and stays, so people can secure their day tickets that way right now.
