I've never had toffee bars, but they sound pretty good. I'll go with those.

For bigger ski trips (requiring flights etc)- plan well in advance or wait to see what's going on with weather etc and play it by ear?

Plan well in advance; I've always been a planner and for flights from GSP and group lodging it's a must.

For days trips, we wing it, not wanting to drive 75-150 minutes each way unless it's going to be decent skiing.

Long Trips: pack light and hope for the best or bring whatever might be needed for varying weather ?

Today I went paddling for the first time this summer and also took SUP yoga class - had a great day on the water! I am excited that the weather looks like it may be good for paddling from now on.
