The Wall O'Snow Challenge: When Will It Disappear?

This exposure definitely will make a difference. Inspired by these pics, I just had a good look at my back deck, the rails just showing up. Well, it's not good news: they are bowed! - and that means there could well be some structural damage to the deck itself from the snow load. Great. Add it to the ever-lengthening list of necessary repairs and expense this spring and summer....

Oh, that's awful!

Just went upstairs and took a look out the window at my deck (I can look down on it from the second floor). I can see the rails on the other side of the wall o'snow, and they're not bowed. Phew.

Next winter I'm going to try to shovel to keep it cleared. It just got too big too fast this year.

Same here. I think we kept up with it last winter, when those big storms came at intervals. This year, it was fast and furious in Dec, as you well know. We can't even GET to our back deck yet to do this shoveling: haven't opened the door to it since December---but I think I had better get busy before the rain comes on Friday, as there is still 4+ feet sitting on top of my bulkhead door, which is capable of producing an "indoor waterfall" (and do not ask how I know this.......). Life in Maine.....very challenging...very labor-intensive....very mega-calorie burning. I think I'll trudge out there and get started TODAY. SERIOUS bowing - could mean the deck boards are cracked and collapsed. Oh well, it's only money. And the divas here wonder why I don't travel.....

Inspired by itri and her mini Gemini, I'll vote May 27th (my birthday/significantly larger Gemini).
Good day! Our youngest will turn 1 on May 27th. And our anniversary is May 19th. But I'm sticking with my May 15th guess. :D

Hooray! It's spring in Maine!
Anyone want to volunteer for asphalt crack filler and full seal coat? It's only 145 feet long.

I say May 4. Your extended forecast is calling for warmer days but you've got some below-freezing nights. AND....the last day of your 14-day forecast has rain/snow in it, and the temperature graph takes a dive! That said, melting should still accelerate as the days get longer, but the snow is compacting at the same time, too, making it more dense...hmmmmm......

Make sure you don't have lots of water running near your French doors, especially if it rains on all that snow.

Did anyone get May 18th yet (hubby's birthday)? If not, I'm in.

Is there any way to embed a google calendar in a post, for the graphically inclined? I made a calendar with everyone's date selections and would like to embed it in here...but in the meantime, here's the URL. I think dloveski and Severine both chose the same date.....
